1. Warwick Thumb BO 5 string £750 including delivery to the UK http://s738.photobucket.com For sale is a recently acquired thumb, bought from eBay. This was my second attempt to get into a Thumb which has not come off. Bass has had some TLC, but is in great nick for a 20 year old German instrument. All the hardware is new and a new MEC vol pot and jack socket has been added. Very little fret wear and everything functioning as it should. There is some obvious wear on the neck pickup, shown in the pictures. Serial # K-021793-95 Wenge Neck and Fretboard! Brass nut Ovangkol body New black hardware 9 volt pre-amp Mec pickups Finish on the body is just liberon finishing oil, which provides a great protective barrier Price includes delivery to the UK only, hard case, padded 3” strap and strap locks.
2. I actually loved the UNI PRE in the thumb, much warmer tone i thought, but with enough of the Warwick sound left. Though i didn’t get on with the thumb, for some reason i couldn’t get comfortable. This is the second thumb i've tried, an NT and now the BO, both have left me with a sore left hand, so i think it'll be a restore the MEC preamp and move it on. I think i'll look for a 5 string streamer.

Pleasure to deal with and great comms, would not hesitated to recommend Martin as have many others!
9. i agree, i find the preamp nasally/aggressive , and there is only 1 way to find out... I can always put the MEC back in if i don’t like it.
10. i was thinking that the UHI-PRE would still retain the core sound of the thumb but provide a wider spectrum of variation. Take your point though.
11. Anyone out there put an East preamp in a thumb bass?
I have a UNI-PRE and was considering swapping the out MEC. I was hoping for some advice on the results, pointers and any gotchas before commencing the operation.

your thoughts please?

20. Touch anything metal on the bass and it goes away. Turn the vol up and it goes away. What am i missing?
21. DR Handmade Lo-Rider - Nickel, always feel more punchy to me, they have a higher tension.
22. ++ KiOgon, pleasure to deal with. Just send him a pm.
23. Great, I thought that might be the case, but needed some advice from someone with more experience. I guess I was being impatient. Cheers
24. Doing a reapire on a MIM P bass neck, i bought a can of the above, took my time and sprayed the neck with a satin spray. left the neck for a few hours, cut it back with 1500 grit paper, and resprayed. did this a few times. Neck looks great Except - a few days now and somehow the neck still feels sticky, its dry but seems to cause friction with skin. Have i done anything wrong? Do i just need to wait longer before assessing if its a sucess?
