1. 3 basses. Although 1 rarely gets played (it was my first and is living out it's retirement in a padded cell after playing too many punk gigs), 1 is up for sale as it has pretty much never been used (see the for sale thread), 1 gets used for gigs/practice/rehearsals. 1 head 0 cabs. Still getting cash together to get the new cabs, but seeing as though I've not long since joined a newly formed band and the rehearsal space provides cab in with the hourly rate, there's not much of a rush.
2. Would someone please buy this before I do something that would result in me having to sell it to pay for a divorce lawyer?
3. Final bump on this. Only 12 hours left to potentially bag a bargain.
4. Right, it's taken a while but the camera and the bass finally found themselves in the same room. So, here she is in all her glory. 5. The auction ends on Sunday and is currently still at the start price. Could be a chance to bag a bargain!
6. Only a week left on the bay auction type bump
7. It's gotta go, so it;s on the bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181091183744?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Low Start, No Reserve, I just need it sold.
8. I'm guessing that this bass might be a bit of a no go area for interest on this forum, but, I thought I'd offer it on here before I try to sell it elsewhere. The bass is approximately 10 years old and was one of the very first brought in the country, I bought the demo model direct from the distributor about a week after he'd received it. In the 10 ish years I've owned the bass it has been played a handful of times so is in about as close to mint condition as it could be. I'll put photo's and more technical details up tonight when I get home. For now all I can remember is: Sunburst colouring 5 Strings Single Kent Armstrong Active Soapbar pickup Musicman replica styling The bass is heavy, I have a hard case that's seen far better days and is also heavy, so local collection or meet up is preferred but UK shipping would be possible. I'm near Derby/Sheffield/Nottingham. I've got no clue what this is worth as you just can't find any of them for sale or recently sold so I'm going to start at £100. Cheers for looking. Dave
9. Thanks for the info, heading edited to suit. Also think it's time for a price drop. Anyone want to give me somewhere in the region of £175 for it? Please, I really wanna buy cabs for my new head and saving 5p coins is taking too long.
10. Hey folks, After my visit to bass direct to get my new head I have decided to abandon my rack set-up in favour of a head in a bag. As a result my rather lovely fender rack tuner is now surplus to requirements. It's it really good condition, tracks quickly with the bass and looks pretty to boot. I think £70 (with uk shipping) is a fair price. I would probably consider a trade for a pedal tuner so let me know what you've got. Cheers for looking. Dave.
11. If you're in Leeds/York then you could do worse than looking at gear4music. The guys who work at the shop are nice enough, not a patch on Mark at bass direct, but friendly and helpful none the less. If there's something on the website site you want to try out then it's worth giving them a call to check that they've got it in the shop as a lot of their stock is stored in an off site warehouse, but they can usually get it over to the store for the following day. As for your choice of Genz Benz contour, I'm a massive fan of all things Genz although I haven't tried the contours. As has already been said, the for sale section on here is a great place to pick up great gear that's been well looked after, and for a good price too.
12. Well, it's still available if anyone wants to buy it. I need money to replenish my musical equipment fund so someone please buy this cab from me.
13. Right, the Shuttlemax 12.2 is now in my possession. I've taken a bit of a drive today to see Mark at bass direct buy the head. I was rather blown away by the pair of Berg HD210s that I was playing through so they are a very serious consideration. The tone was almost perfect for me with the amp eq just about flat. So, anyone know of others that are similar to the bergs that might be worth me checking out?
14. Well okay it is! Okay boys and girls of the basschat world, I'm not looking for a definitive answer, I'm looking for inspiration. I recently sold my beloved Genz Benz rig, hope you're loving it as much as I did bramleyapple because I wasn't in a band and didn't really have the space to store it. As always seems to happen, I got home from delivering the amp to find myself in a band, D'oh! I have decided on my head and will hopefully be getting it in the next week or two. I've opted to go for a Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2. So here's where you lovely folks come in to inspire me with cab ideas. What I'm looking for is a multi cab, flexible solution that's good for some really nice deep rumbling lows (Drop D tuning rather than Low with nice mellow, smooth mids for playing lead bass melodies in the more ballad anthemic songs. If it can do crisp highs it would be a bonus but not essential. So we're looking for either four 8ohm cabs or two 4ohm cabs, 2x600W @ 4 ohms power amps to play with. I'm not in a rush to get the cabs as the rehearsal room provides cabs and storage space is still going to be an issue for the next 3-6 months. As such I'm going to say that this is a "money no object" situation although don't discount the cheaper solutions. Weight and size are a factor as our rehearsal room is on the 4th floor of a building with no lift and I want to be able to carry my full rig by myself. An example for weight reference, I have an old Ashdown 4x10 combo that I would deem to buy a comfortable carry. So come on people, inspire me in to giving someone some money for the rig I'll never want to part with. Cheers Dave
15. This is now on eBay. So as to keep the moderators happy I won't post a link, but a search for Morpheus reveals only one. Cheers. Dave
16. I'm going to be listing this on eBay but before I do I thought I'd drop it on here and see if one in the bass community wants it. It a drop tune pedal that allows for a standard tuned instrument to sound up to 3 1/2 steps lower. I picked it up when I was in a band that were constantly changing between E, Eb and D Standard tunings as it meant I only needed one bass on stage. More recently I've been using the Sub Octave doubler or the full octave drop on one pre-amp channel of the Genz Benz head while leaving the other standard. Used this way it could also allow you to do two part harmony bass lines on the one istrument. Anyway, it's in its original box with power supply, manual and warranty registration card. It's in as new condition. The item is based near derby if you want to try before you buy. I'm looking for £100 for it. I'd estimate uk postage to be £6 or 7 but I'll get a definitive figure from the post office before any money changes hands. Cheers for looking.
17. This rig now resides with it's very happy new owner. Cheers Dave
18. Having seen this bass in the flesh I can say that it's beautiful. Oh if I hadn't needed the cash when I sold him my rig. Have a "this bass is giving me GAS bump"
19. Just taken a road trip to drop my Genz Benz rig off with Mark. The man is an absolute pleasure to deal with and his wife makes a great cup of coffee. If he wants to buy your gear then you can be confident that it will be a smooth transaction.
20. I personally love the GBE750 through the 610 cab. But in all seriousness, being able to set the solid state amp too give a nice clear punchy attack, then set the valve amp to give a warm crunch, and run them both simultaneously gives the most flexibility I have ever come across in a bass amp. Can't really comment on TC stuff as I've never used any.
