New acquisition has assigned my other basses to the bin
johnnylager replied to a topic in Bass Guitars
Sort of, I haven't put the Spector down since getting it and thought about moving the KSD on. Until I got it out for a full on slap session*, which the KSD won hands down. The 'Ray is just the 'Ray - that stays whatever. * B-doink, b-doink, b-diddley doink, b-diddley-diddley-doink repeated 'till the wife told me I was scaring the baby. -
Jeff Berlin uses a normal Dean....doesn't he? What about Geddy? or Tony Franklin, anyone know?
Ged uses his '74 with a sig model neck and has a selection of sig models, a Jaco fretless and a red Jazz 24. Big interview in BP a while back.
A comedy of errors, what a load of sh*t. The most f***ing annoying thing is if that c*** Inzaghi didn’t get his last minute equaliser at FP then we’d be through. f***ing c***. Calamity James, unlucky, use your hands you twat. sh*t happens, but realistically we’ve just had our most successful 12 months within the last 50 years; not bad.
Fair play. Unlike
that c*** Inzaghi
3 off the baggies sunday anyway.
It's not particularly lightweight – but you can't get much simpler than the new Hartke LH500/LH1000: http://www.samsontech.com/products/product...2&brandID=3
And this thread discussing it isn't particularly lightweight, but a good read nonetheless. EDIT: Ben, what the f*** was all that about last night mush? f***ing useless calamity c***.

After a new 5 string, any recommendations?

You should find a G&L L-2500 for that money. Played one, want one. -

Simple, buy the most expensive Spector you can afford.
try fixing this with a screwdriver, soldering iron and spray gun.
Madre de dios - an abomination!

Bloke walks into a gay bar and as he's sitting down, the barman says 'Can I push your stool in sir?'

Righto, I'm currently searching for the [s]Holy Grail[/s] single cab option and these little fellas unfortunately don't fit the bill. I say searching - I know exactly what I want. If my back worked as it once did and the house wasn't being overrun with childrens toys, I'd keep this as I preferred it's valve sound to the SansAmp. Funny that, it being a real valve. A cracking rear ported combo is paired with it's mate the less common front ported 2x10T Deep cab to utilise all 575w. The combo is great on it's own, but the 2x10 just adds a certain je ne sais quoi. Well, volume and better response actually. Those nice chaps at Ashdown have conveniently removed the link to these products, but the 300w combo is seen here. It's the same but louder, manual here. The front ported 2x10 I've not seen anywhere else, but please feel free to correct me. It's a bit like this, but front ported. £375 for the combo & £175 for the cab, £500 the pair to you mush. I need the cash for the new rig, so I'd rather wait for Brown & his bitches to sort out the economy a bit than knock a bunch of cash off the price. The only trades I'm interested in would be a saucy little* power amp and one of Claber's Big Ones. Fnarr. *Fairly big actually.
Or I might just give them some sheet music instead.
My band is really good at sheet music.
It seems like most people in this thread agree that there's a time and a place for slap bass...
Me too. One song. And we dropped that 'cos it's too busy for us to play live. We are sh*t though.

I have a 2EQ and it rocks. A one trick pony, but what a trick. It's not a Spector though...! Not tried a 3EQ, sorry. There might be something in here.
+1 And good luck with getting the bass sorted...
+1. Or get a new one. Or both. I thoroughly recommend a Spector. -
Why then?
'Cos they're great.
Buy a warwick thumb
Don't be daft - buy a Spector! Or just dig in and give it some on whatever bass you have. I'd favour the neck PU, but not roll the bridge off completely. Remember, when asking 4000-odd bassists, you'll get 8 or 9000 answers though.
Sod the basses - I want a Chinese Air Force Fighter Pilot Helmet!!! http://www.ebay3a.com/ebay3a/list.asp?id=76339
Note to self - leave this page open when the missus is next on the computer. On second thoughts, why should I deprive the bloke who sells her the cheap Leatherman copies down the market of his annual sale.
I know sound engineers have got out the Sennheisers for women singers I've worked with but, again, no idea what model of mic it was.
Hehe - Sennheisers are for girls! Old sound engineers trick - take the top off an SM58 = instant SM57. Same mike for bass & vocals.
So you mean it was just Cliff, Lars and James kicking ass (well, Cliff at any rate) those albums?
Yep. Hammett just did the widdley widdley bollocks. Hetfield laid 6 or more identical guitar tracks using different gear. That's why it sounds so tight. Especially MoP. EDIT - I believe the production on every non-Cliff LP has been sh*te - was he really producing them?
