1. All the fuzz/dirt on Failure - Fantastic Planet. So many amazing tonez.
2. Bump with price drop!
3. OC-3 only does octave down, if I remember correctly! Used to have one but sold it on...
4. Recently picked up this amazing boost pedal made by our very own Sibob, based on the Zvex Super Hard-On. This one also features art by Laura Bennett - very cool colourful pedal! This is an amazing clean boost that sounds excellent, unfortunately my preamp doesn't respond in the way I had hoped so I'm going to move this on (although tempted to keep as an ornament, it seems a waste!) This is exactly as new, there are better pictures at https://www.facebook...poultonedevices but I've attached one from me just so you can see I have it! This is a handmade pedal so no box or manual (one knob, turn it up and the volume goes up - a lot) but will ship in the same box I received it in. One point worth noting, this pedal doesn't do volume drop. At it's lowest setting, it is around unity. Why you would want to go below unity is lost on me though Asking £SOLD posted to the UK for this, bank transfer or PayPal gift preferred. All trades considered, an ocatve pedal would be nice
5.
Fuzzdog (formerly poodle) is the UK equivalent, I've never done of his kits but I've heard good things. Personally I don't like the GGG muff, I think the civil war is better for bass, with the appropriate bass mods, but most of the muff versions only differ in slight component values, and a lot of them were actually intended to sound the same. If you really wanted to do the GGG muff just check what values are different from the Poodle kit. I'd recommend doing a mids mod, you can either add a switch or a pot.
Cool! I've been looking at their muff kit and the schematic seems the same as the GGG kit. I've been going through the resistors/caps to see what would make it most like the GGG, but maybe I'll just go for one of their kits instead. Cheers bobbass4k!
6. I quite fancy trying my hand at making a GGG tuned muff, does anyone know if there is anywhere in the UK that sells an equivelant kit or do I just have to suck up the extra import charges? Cheers
7.
really looking forward to it, my pedal collection is def getting a revamp atm got in a nice easy to hide colour aswell.........gold
What paint job did you go for?
8. I think you'll be really happy with the Demon, one of their best imho, and I've had most of them too! Would have kept them all if I hadn't needed the cash!
9. Great price for an amazing pedal!
10. Bought an amp from Chris, all was well and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with again G
11.
Doesn't the Genz have a HPF built in (defeatable by the deep switch)? I remember our Shep once trying a Microthumpinator with a Streamliner and there being no difference, only to do some research and discover that the Streamliner and Shuttle heads already have one built in! I can't remember the cutoff frequency, but I think it was higher on the .0 series, then lowered to something like 30Hz for the .2 series.
I didn't realise that! It sure does, but I'd be bypassing it running into the effects loop. Maybe need to rethink this plan and use the preamp section, or maybe at least until I get my own cab. I have heard the Genz Benz amps are pretty transparent anyway.
sounds like a Big Baby 2 would do very nicely I'll never part with mine.
I hadn't considered the Big Baby before, I thought it had a tweeter which put me off. Might be saving up for one of those rather than the Super Twin!
12.
EDIT: So maybe make it plain you will absolutely go with the wishes of the kind kit-lender if they think you are getting too loud through their cab.
Absolutely - respect goes to the person providing the cab!
13.
HPF can help. It could also clean up the sound in the room.
Ah yeah! Maybe a micro-thumpinator? Used to have one of those too...
14. Cheers for the input JTUK! The preamp I am using is pretty dirty even at "clean", but it has a headphone out, so hopefully I can use that to identify if it is clipping the power amp. There is a boost on the unit too, but luckily that's the only pedal I'm running (besides my tuner) and it is always on, so at least that is less complicated than it could be with volume levels etc.
15. Oh man, I loved my Phat Phuk B and regret letting it go, if I had the cash I'd grab it. +1 on the paint job. GLWS
16.
Short of sticking an RMS voltmeter on the outputs on the amp and turning down if it sits above a certain voltage for a while there's not really much you can do. Your best friend in this situation is experience (so knowing what you can realistically expect from a given cab) and good ears - or buying a nice cab of your own that's small and light enough to take to the gigs and robust enough to handle your needs!
My dream cab is a Super Twin!
17. I do feel bad using other people's gear but it seems to be the done thing amongst these guys. These are small scale gigs so even putting my financial and travel situations aside, I think less moving gear on stage is desirable.
18. I have recently joined a band that has a few support gigs lined up, I sold my Orange TB recently which was left over after my last band (I wasn't planning on being in another band any time soon) and have just picked up a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 to replace it. However! The gigs we are playing will all be quite small and I will be playing through other people's cabs, I am just wondering if anyone has some tips to make sure I don't damage anyone's stuff? The Genz Benz puts out a whopping 900W @ 4 Ohms and I will be running a fairly dirty pre into the effects loop on the amp, I'm hoping the lovely dirt I get from the pedal will be distinguishable from the sound of an unhappy cab! Most things I have read say just keep an ear out, but I was wondering if anyone here had any more advice - I would be mortified if I damaged a cab. Cheers
19. B7K is sold, Rat Tail still available.
20. Recently bought a new pre from here that I'm digging, and on the lookout for a new amp soon so unfortunately need to lose a couple of pedals to balance the books. Fuzzrocious Rat Tail [s]£100[/s] [s]£90 posted (UK)[/s] [s]My favourite dirt pedal and the only one that I kept after my last band fell apart, I'm having to buy some gear for a new band I've just joined and unfortunately won't get to RAT it up often enough to justify keeping this. Very reluctant sale. This one was a custom order through Fuzzrocious, pink sparkle case with kid paint and second distortion setting mod.[/s] I always come back to this pedal, you think I'd learn my lesson... *WITHDRAWN* Darkglass B7K £SOLD posted (UK) [s]Been using this with the new band and it is awesome, I get a lot of compliments on my tone with this pedal. It is an older Finnish version I picked up on here a while ago, as you can see the case isn't the usual black. Some of the printing is a little worn off but it works as expected, I use it with the normal output jack and the DI and it has never let me down.[/s] Neither of these pedals came with a box or manual but will be packaged well and sent ASAP via Royal Mail. If anyone wants to ask any questions or wants some closer pictures, just let me know. My feedback is in my signature. Cheers [sharedmedia=core:attachments:166387] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:179550] (Please ignore the other pedals in these pictures)
21. I've had a couple of rat based pedals and can also confirm the Blower Box definitely does not need a blend, the bass on that thing is crazy. I ended up going back to the Rat Tail though.
22. Bought a pedal from Dood and all was well, would definitely deal with again Thanks man!
23. Thanks for all the input guys, never considered the Genz Benz, looks great!
24. I have recently picked up a pre I really like and have been looking at ways to amplify it in a small package (I don't drive so if everything can fit in a gig bag that would be awesome) The Minnie D would be ideal but out of my price range at the moment, so looking at other Class D heads I can run into the effects loop on. I had an Orange TB500 before, I would prefer something flat but if that's the loudest option might pick up another. Anyone have any experience with this? Models I am considering: GK MB500, Ampeg PF500, Aguilar ToneHammer etc.
25. These are awesome!
