Here's a few pics of the work done today
Coming together :

The piece on the left is for the footswitch to my TC RH450
Here's a pic with a couple of pedals "onboard"

Build Diary Apologies if you've already started one... -
Don't forget to cut the slots in the nut to within a mm of the fingerboard, oil the pots and liberally coat the thing in beeswax
Having just seen the inexperienced bit please, please, please don't do any of the above! I'm making fun of a certain "gluthier"... -

There's odd... Mine was a blue 5-string too, but I sold it because it couldn't cope with a high-C, the ergonomics were a bit lacking & I landed an RSB-Deluxe 5 which made it redundant.
The neck was nice - quite slim considering & the single coil p/ups had a good growl about them. My biggest gripe with it was that the body didn't have a round-over edge, & there was nowhere to anchor my thumb so was a bit uncomfortable on the right hand.
Very definitely post-Matsumoku, probably '90s Korean manufacture. Put it in a stand when not in use as the headstock is scarf-jointed to the neck around the third fret & they don't take kindly to being dropped. Good "beater" & well worth £70 IMO.

To resurect an old thread, mine is a blue 5 string and I've not quite just spent twice its market value on pups and a new bridge -
I wonder if Mr Phillips will branch out into DB restoration/improvement.

I'm sure the point of this section is to point out useful eBay items that people may have missed, but as there also seems to be a reasonable amount of OMG items I thought I'd post this for your eddification.
Apologies if it's already been spotted.

There's a fab motorbike thread here and I've just put up some new pics. Let's see your Aprilia on it.

I'm on page 38 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/17518-so-who-rides-motorbikes-then/page__st__740__p__1737418#entry1737418
We were doing stuff in the garden on Saturday and I looked it over with a view to having a play if Sunday was nice, which it was. It's got a flat rear tyre, so no playtime It did mean that I had more time for working in the garden on Sunday which meant I got to use my chainsaw so all was not completely lost
Anyway, back to painting basses... -
Give it until the end of the month.

Want want want want want, but I'm trying to save for an amp and cab Get thee behind me Satan
Have a bump anyway. -

I expect you'd likely draw much of the same crowd.

That's OK, you're all nice people Point taken, the reason I'm thinking of there is that it's really easy for me to pop into the venues and have a look at their faclities without going far afield or finding somewhere that looks good on line only to book it and find it's useless.
I may take back my offer of setting it up! -
I've got an '07 Aprilia RSVR. I'll see if I can attach a picture to my profile or something Unless you want your thread hijacked
-
That is just outrageously cool
I'd be afraid to take it out and then spend all my time polishing scratches out! -
Nice bass though Have you another that looks sort of similar that you could hide in the wardrobe for a while so she doesn't notice?
Of course, your wife could be perfectly au-fai with basses and spot it immediately. Mine wouldn't be able to tell them apart if I got a new one as long as it was blue -
Right, from comments on this thread and the SE one, if there was a Bass Bash around Northampton in 2013 would anyone turn up? I'm looking at schools in the area and taken a pointer from the SE thread and also looking at hotels/conference venues.
Would you want it 6 months before/after the SE, which makes it the end of March, might get interesting with Easter, or set it at mid april so it doesn't hit half term or the May BH? Are there any other bashes that might clash?
Absloutely nothing is set up or confirmed yet, just getting a feel for opinions, but if you want it I don't mind trying to set it up (probably because I'm stupid). Any help gratefully accepted should it look like this is a goer -
Hooray , but...
Well, more pics than you've already shown us anyway -
Looks nice, and looks like it took an awful amount of effort to get it to that stage as well
What's on the other end of the pair of forks to the left of your workmate? I'm guessing the other is some sort of Beemer? -
I read the second option as Disabled People against Cats... I either need more tea or an early night
Three very worthy causes, can I split my vote and send £3.33 to each of them? -
Made in 1956 and kept in a cellar since...
It's got 6 strings as well according to the eBay header. -
I don't suppose you know which hotel? I did start thinking about a Northampton bash, there's a thread on here somewhere. I'd just be worried that no-one would turn up and I'd sit there looking silly

Haha! After a quick visit to my engineering supplier (my dad ) last night the PSU and the permanent pedals are now mounted on the top grey plate. Fortunately the pedals hide most of the holes made by previous cock-ups but underneath it looks like it's been shotgunned! I need to make some new side plates due to the old ones splitting, fit the timber to the 1U channels and then it can be called finished
Pics when it is actually done. I'm going to make a flightcase for it as well, but I'm not going to diary that as there are enough of those out there already. -
If you weren't in Manchester...
Have a bump anyway -
Nissan and Honda both had some freaky colours, the Nissan Primera came in a weird purple/green that really depended upon the light to see what it was and the CBR400RR had a black/purple option which was rather good. Just putting them out there for interest really. I've no idea how well they would work on a bass though.

I was thinking of a 15Sub in an only cab setup. Will it cope with a 500w head with the Eminence 3015?
I'll be getting the kit if I do get one as I like making stuff Do you supply instructions, I've never done anything like this before so I'd like advice about filling the box with padding, wiring the speaker in etc etc -
'75 P Bass for me please, if wishes were pennies this thread would be a proper earner I'd actually just like a nice proper P Bass, but even though there are a few in the sale rooms I can't justify it, except as someone said earlier you only live once
