If that reminds you of how your pants look, I have to wonder what you have been doing in them.

  2. Iron Maiden in Bremen in a fortnight this evening.  I'd hoped they'd come to Hamburg, but I've invited my school mate who along with me is also 50 this year (funny that!) and his wife so we'll make a weekend of it.  Matt and I will go to the concert whilst the wives can babysit our littleun. 2 is a bit young still for an evening concert, but he'll get there :)

    Hi all,

My friend updated the software on his Helix. It is now bricked. His local shop have quoted 400 to repair it. I do not suspect the shop of sharp practice. The problem happened well before they got their hands on it. It needs a new motherboard. Surely this cannot be right if all you are doing is putting manufacturer software on it? Any suggestions?

    TIA

I think it's dead.  They need to give it to you for use as a footrest for you onstage........

  4. It's alright as a song, setting the slightly sketchy lyrics to one side.  The bit I can't get my head around is singing it, as very few of the lines seem to match the timing of the phrases.  They're either just before or overrun when they feel they should stop.

Give me No More Heroes to do any day over Peaches.

  5. How was my rehearsal last night?  Awful.  I could have transplanted my fingers with Tesco Value sausages and it would have been an improvement, and as for my sense of timing, that deserted me as I was tuning up.

Everyone else seemed OK with it though, we made good progress apparently.

Yes, there is a big issue that makes no sense and is causing problems, the front end (cloudflare) has a pointer to where the site is, the pointer decided to point to the old site (basschat and guitarchat as I am sure you will remember changed server at the start of feb), now the old site no longer exists, we revert it to the new site, it stays pointing at it for a few hours and then it changes itself for reasons unknown to point to the old site again (which isn't there) and goes offline.

Could it be a reputation thing? The new host may not have enough traffic for the pointer to "stick"?

Earthtone9 tonight at the Treehouse in Frome. Excellent performance despite the lack of bassist.

Support band Hollow Kin were really very good.

Oooh, Earthtone9, there's a blast from the past, I saw them supporting Misery Loves Co at Camden Underworld about a million years ago!

  8. I'm on the last leg of my train journey from Hamburg to home after seeing Massive Wagons at Bahnhof Pauli this evening, well, yesterday now, to be pedantic 😉

Tiny venue, 400 max capacity but a really good gig, probably the best I've seen for a while. It was one of those punt gigs after hearing a couple of songs on the radio but totally worth it.

  9. This is what I'm using as my current drive patch.  It started off by me asking the MLA for the best guess at JJB's sound from Rattus Norvegicus.  As disscussed above that resulted in a horrible mess so I refined said question by asking it to use the Dark Pre, and no amp sims and it has ended up with the attached.

Before you all jump in and say it sounds nothing like it, probably not, but it was an interesting experiment and I've ended up with a sound I like.  Which is the important bit I think 🙂

I've also chucked a chorus in it to get a second drive patch and created a clean patch from it by winding the gain on the Dark Pre back to 10.

EDIT, created and uploaded with Tone-Lib, but I imagine you could use ZoneLabs to open it if you don't use Tone-Lib.
