Is it particularly damp or cold in Italy at the moment? I don't know how epoxy works or if it's affected by the weather.

Thanks Si, the hijack continues ... (Sorry Rob)
30 inch scale length
Nut end needs to allow for this headless string mount whilst allowing access to the truss rod adjustment
On my Ibby GSRM25, fret 22 is 70mm, which I suspect is the narrowest that would work (Which without modelling means the ebay neck is too narrow as it is 65mm with 24 frets ).

Here you go, they're all 34" scale unfortunately.
Peavey Millennium BXP neck.
45mm at nut
61.16 at 12
68.94 at 21
Aria Pro2 Magna Series.
46.80 at nut
61.52 at 12
68.14 at 22
14.5 string spacing at the bridge.
You'll have to wait until next week for the P-Bass.

They were, but I'm not paying either the price for the current model or definitely not what the actual vintage ESLs are fetching now

The question is how wide is wide enough?
I've been looking at this, which looks like I could loose 98% of the 'paddle' leaving enough space to mount the headless string retainer and is affordable at about £60.

I need to figure out of its 65mm heel will result in sufficient string spacing at the bridge, I'd like 18mm ... I really need to draw up a design to check angles, spacing etc.
And, despite 97.4% +ve seller feedback, I'm a bit wary of a made in china ebay neck ...

Sorry @rwillett for a quick hijack.
Sam, what measurements do you need? I've got 3 5er necks I can measure for you, two are strung and one is waiting for me to stop procrastinating and finish the bloody project!

If you can 3D print with steel wool you are truely a god!

I've seen 3D printed concrete structures. Basically a CNC concrete pump nozzle, but the principle is sort of the same.
Maybe.

Cool. It will be very interesting to see how it handles the stresses. Any reinforcement?

5. Readjust my pillar drill so I can clean the workstop. Swarf and cuuting fluid is horrible, already used the "kitchen" dustpan and brush and the CFO was not happy with what I brought back, so a new dustpan needed now <sigh>.
Do you need suds with aluminium? I wouldn't have bothered, but then, I haven't built submarines for BAE Systems.

I've heard worse ideas 🤣
How does the template work? Presumably there's some sort of scale reduction because that looks a very big dish, more like one of those medieval spoon shaped instruments than a carved top.

Phew! I'm running as my 7 year old is due back from dance class in 14 minutes at which point she purloins the laptop😟 I've tried explaining to her that Basschat is WAAYYYY cooler than The Worst Witch, but her powers of negotiation a lightyears beyond mine🙄
Presumably because you are no longer prepared to scream and scream until you are sick?

There are, but I'm not sure I could face it. It was quite hard. Fortunately there is a chap who is playing through every known Computer RPG, and he actually played and reviewed it in 2021. I only found this link yesterday, so I am still reeling a bit.

Are you going to accommodate him and get in touch to explain what you were thinking/taking when you wrote it?

Hang fire on giving Jeff Bozo more money and see what's in the locality on ebay. You may be able to pick up an old pillar drill which if you get it right will be more substantial and better quality than a new bbot ones online.

Someone on here, I'm sure it was put up a picture of using bike chain links as brackets to attach pedals to boards.
That, I think, were I.

My app, on Android, has gone full screen, which is a thundering nuisance as the back, home and app buttons disappear when I'm using the app.

Where did you get the CF sheet from?

OSB flooring returns 😉, have you tried to make a bass out of it yet?
Make it a weird shape, like an explorer, or a faceted version of something curvy?
What's a butterknife style machine head?

- Left: The original bezel. It was flimsy. With one corner missing it left my thumb exposed to the sharp edge of the countersunk screwhead just where I need to rest it.
You could have flipped the bezel so the sharp bit was on the opposite corner to your thumb.
Jus sayin' 🤪

I mean, if you recessed the screw heads properly and wanted it to look properly left field rat-rod style you could always put the screws in from the front. There's enough clearance between the frets at the dusty end of a bass neck...
As long as it's secure it's just a visual thing at the end of the day...

Acoustic bass - carved top

Is that all the bracing it gets? From my recollection of looking in sound holes acoustic guitars are like a boat inside, ribs and frames everywhere.
