In that case, I'm in for this year. Let's see if I remember that this time around.

TheGreek, you are not helping!!
Let me swim in my own tiny fishtank of ignorance about the wider world of bass gear. Bass > cable > Tuner > short cable > amp is all I need!
No, you need a long cable between the amp and tuner in case you sit down on the other side of the room to the amp and need to adjust tuning.
-
It's not clear in the rules, so I'm assuming that they're not allowed, but can I buy the bits to finish my bass I'm building? Namely tuners, nut and possibly pickups?

The pencil line shape is a bit like Jabba's builds.
Or maybe just in my imagination!

With a stick on tort scratchplate?

To be honest, as long as you have something to hold the strings up and adjust the intonation, then the loose end can be attached to the body with fence staples
Have a look at Crimson Guitars Nebula, the ball ends are hooked on little brass rods with a Gibson style saddle to adjust.

For what it's worth I am most impressed by Si's dovetail joints, starry mitres, foldable stands and his cunningly wrought box.
Thank you sir.

If you genuinely want one I'll make one. The postage will be so high it'll be cheaper to buy one yourself though.

Oh?
Not you obviously. You're extremely reputable and interested in the chaos from my workshop.

You summoned me to this thread
With this ^^^^ 😗
Only because you were going on about it in the "other" thread. I certainly didn't invite your disreputable "friends".

What's it for? Cigars? A Luger?
So far its just annoying.
What it's for is to practice joinery and woodworkery. It became a box to put MDW's Christmas present in to give it a purpose.
If that annoys you then you can take your "mates" and their thread derailment back to the DoI. Get orf my thread.

I can't see the point of joining two invisible butts together.
I don't know, it would make an interesting garden feature. Two invisible water butts joined together, with the water seemingly hanging in mid air.

Do you guys know a place where I could get perspex templates made off a scaled CAD drawing?
Not as such, but if you have the drawing then ask your local engineering firms, the smaller ones probably, if they will run some off on the CNC mill.
You never know, one may say yes.
Or they'll do you a laser cut one out of 5mm guage plate. For a colossal price 😉

Strings sucessfully delivered to Wales.

What happens if you want to make a jazz bass?
I'll get me coat.

I've seen Laura Kampf use one of these and did wonder whether it self corrects if you wobble.
It's an impressive bit of kit, and a very impressive result.

IIRC, the Norrisole was a series of holes, descending in size, set into a carved recess in the shape of teardrop 'f' hole. He did it on the Nozcaster.

The wiring is complete although I still have to spray over the legend and find some way of printing gold on black.
Have you got any waterslide paper? You could play around with different colours of 'gold' on a sheet and try to see which one is best.

In an emergency you can use them as plectrums. I've got enough of the bu$$ers, but can I find any at home?
-
I'm afraid that my only advice is to try before you buy. We wandered around three furniture/office shops yesterday and only found one that we liked. The one that we would have chosen from the shop's website was horrible!
Then they told us that we can't take it home, but have to wait until possibly February. Humph!

I'll take it, how much do you want for it and postage (to Germany)?

What are you going to end up with, a solid body bass in the shape of your ukuleles, or a larger version of them with bowl, sound board and standard bass hardware fitted?
