    TheGreek, you are not helping!!

Let me swim in my own tiny fishtank of ignorance about the wider world of bass gear. Bass > cable > Tuner > short cable > amp is all I need!

No, you need a long cable between the amp and tuner in case you sit down on the other side of the room to the amp and need to adjust tuning.

  2. To be honest,  as long as you have something to hold the strings up and adjust the intonation,  then the loose end can be attached to the body with fence staples ;)

Have a look at Crimson Guitars Nebula, the ball ends are hooked on little brass rods with a Gibson style saddle to adjust.

For what it's worth I am most impressed by Si's dovetail joints, starry mitres, foldable stands and his cunningly wrought box.

    Thank you sir. :hi:

We now need to see a five-station bass rack*.

    *For temporary rickenbacker 'storage'.

If you genuinely want one I'll make one. The postage will be so high it'll be cheaper to buy one yourself though. ;)

What's it for? Cigars? A Luger?

So far its just annoying. :/

What it's for is to practice joinery and woodworkery. It became a box to put MDW's Christmas present in to give it a purpose.

If that annoys you then you can take your "mates" and their thread derailment back to the DoI. Get orf my thread.

I can't see the point of joining two invisible butts together.

I don't know, it would make an interesting garden feature. Two invisible water butts joined together, with the water seemingly hanging in mid air.

Do you guys know a place where I could get perspex templates made off a scaled CAD drawing?

Not as such, but if you have the drawing then ask your local engineering firms, the smaller ones probably, if they will run some off on the CNC mill.

You never know, one may say yes.

Or they'll do you a laser cut one out of 5mm guage plate. For a colossal price 😉
