1. I only had a little look at that to be honest. Thanks though, I hope I'll get better.
2. Hey. Yeah. I joined up the first time round but never did it due to time, But I'm gonna get on it this time round. Already posted my first lesson. http://soundcloud.com/a-sagar/gary-burton-jazz-improv-lesson This is my first time at improvising jazz lines so it's pretty basic and scrappy but I hope I can improve over the 5 weeks
3. yeah, I checked that already. 7 day return. I libe in Leeds and York, you would have thought it would be ripe for decent bass amps but its all ashdown (not that they are bad). Thanks for the help
4. Hi Phil-osopher10 Yeah, I just missed out on a TC yesterday. I'm forever scouring the sale ads. It seems the contour is the best bang for my buck (I don't really have many of them).
5. Hello list I'm on the verge of buying my first combo and I'm looking at the GB Contour 11t from bass direct. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Genz_Benz_Contour_Combos_210,_115.html Just wondering if anyone has had a play on these and has any thoughts about them. it should be plenty big enough for the gigs I do (always borrowed amps and this is bigger than those). Thanks Ash
6. just seen this, here's one I'm in. https://www.facebook.com/neuschlaufen
7. yes. ebow indeed. used it for a gig tonight in fact. Now I'm on flats it's even tougher to get teh string going but I do tap it on occasion, although I prefer it to come in naturally. I'm fortunate enough to be in a band that does what the hell it wants on stage so the bow doesnt have to be going at a specific time. Alsio hand control helps as the grooves on it are set for guitar (bluegh, Guitarists annoy me, especially ones who play bass. "Oh i play the bass like a guitar". Well, cos of you I have to try and be much more impressive and learn sh*t that they play.) anyway, enough rant. get one with an overdrive/fuzz and reverb pedal. Loads of fun.

10. Hey all, thanks for the welcomes. I'm a late returner after a 15 year hiatus but instead of the root note basher I once was , i'm actually doing it properly and taking some lessons. 35, no wife (praise the lord) G&L L2000 crappy little practice amp. double bass Play in a few bands krautrock to jazz to folk. it's all fun. As for the credit card numbers, what now?????? I dont think the bank would allow me to have one. i havent held a job down for years Ash
11. Hi there. Ive been lurking around for sometime stealing information for my own good and scouring the sale threads for gear (the good stuff is always down south). Just wanted to actually say hi and introduce myself properly. So there you go. Hi. Ash
12.
I'd have said heart, not head, and certainly not from what you've read in a book. Composing by numbers takes you nowhere, but it's a good remedy for insomnia. You write what you feel.
You speak of composition by numbers taking you nowhere. I disagree. It took me here https://soundcloud.com/section_9/addition101 This is one of my compositions based on very simple mathematics
13. man, If this was 4 days ago I would have had dibs on it but I have a diamond bass comp on the way now.
14. I would but Surrey is far far away from Leeds
15. hello. here is a EHX memory boy that I got not so long ago off of the bay. Nothing wrong with it just not enough delay for my tastes (especially for my modular synth setup). Would like to try get what I paid for it which was £70 (not including postage). This is the ebay link to the unit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electro-Harmonix-Memory-Boy-Guitar-effects-pedal-/150865966512?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item23204ff5b0#ht_500wt_1363 Here it is All boxed with a psu. I'm in Leeds so you can come and give it a try if you like. Ash
16. Here are a couple of my sadly unused studio/live kit. first up is my arduinome 64 a great little midi controller with 64 buttons. Self build with a monome 40H kit and arduino. Bought from the monome forum. http://monome.org/ wanting £350 second is my korg kaoss quad. Bought for use with my suitcase semi modular synth setup but it turns out what I really need is a delay pedal to use alongside my bass as well as the suitcase. Looking at £140 for this Get in touch sorry no trades. Ash
