1. I've had the bass line to badge by cream stuck in my head for about a month for no apparent reason. I cant remember th last time i listened to it but do have to play it occasionally to get the ear worm to stop. Are there any other sufferers of random bass line ear worms.
2. I might have to try and get to heron music or electric ladyland and see what they have in!
3. Thanks. I've pm'd about the westone. I don't think Ive played one in 20 years but do remember that they are a solid chunk of wood but can't remember what the necks are like.
4. Thanks for the ideas. I've just missed out on a couple on evil bay and will keep looking. Thanks everyone.
5. I been promising myself a fretless for years and have tried a squier vm jazz fretless which seems good value and is nice to play. Just wondering if anyone can recommend anything else worth considering in that sort of budget as there doesnt seem much choice in the shops around bristol. I prefer j necks to p. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers
6. Hi I don't know if this should be here or in Jazz as its a Georgie Fame track but its not that Jazzy so I'll start here. I'm trying to work out "Somebody Stole My Thunder" by Georgie Fame and am hoping someone has some Tab or transcriptions for it as I can't find anything on the Web. I'm fine with the main riff which is in F, but am struggling with some of the fills and speciffically the the prechorus / chorus section under the "no one told me lock your doors and windows" section. I think it is moving between G and C but I'm struggling to work out what is actually being played. It is a fantastic bass line which I think was played by Tex Makins, and any help would be gratefully received. Thanks for the help. Steve

SOLD

Can't believe this hasn't sold for that price. I have same bass but in black. You won't get a more versatile bass with as nice a neck for at least double or treble the money.
8. Bought a Ashdown amp from James, all as described, great condition, and works fine. Very well packed, good communication and dispatched quickly. Pleasure to deal with. Cheers Steve

13. For Sale Marshall Drivemaster overdrive pedal circa 1991 ish. Bought from new still with origional box, works perfectly only thing is the battery cover is a little loose. Does what it says on the tin and sounds like an overdriven Marshall. Only selling as I don't use it any more (no more Metallica covers, its great for "For Whom the bell tolls"). Very good condition Would consider trading for a budget end but decent fretless with some cash your way, they seem to be on the market for about £60 so I'll start there but happy to haggle. Photos to come shortly if needed but its a black metal box that makes your bass rock http://www.ultimate-...ster/index.html Cheers

Yamaha BBs

I love my BB1100s, its my only bass and have had it for over 20 years. They have to be the best value for money basses around and you can get a massive range of tones from them along with a lovely neck. The only downside with it is that it's not the second had Wal I went to buy that day, but it had sold that morning with my BB1100 being px'd for it. I still tell myself I saved £75 as a result as long as I don't consider the £2k price difference now!
15. Drummer wanted for a new project in Bath and Bristol. Guitar, Bass, Drums, rock set up with a bit of a r&b blues folk funk soul vibe. Mix of Origionals and covers, aiming for a first gig in December and the drummer we had lined up has had to drop out due to work commitments. We're in our 30s if it matters and are looking to make some noise and have a good time. We tend to reherse in Bath. PM me if you are interested or know anyone who may be. Also is there a drum version of Bass Chat that it is worth putting this on? Cheers Steve

20.
Played the T-Max head in my old (black/thrash metal) band, great amp - actually preferred it over the Ampeg SVT-3pro (which I originally wanted to buy before I came across the T-Max). Wanted something lighter after a while, but tone-wise it's still one of those amps I regret having sold! But 500£ is way overpriced ... Got mine for about 150£ (though it really was a great deal), but from time to time they appear on ebay or the 2nd hand market for about 180-250£. If you don't mind the weight and like the tone, and find one in good condition in that price range - go for it, they really are great, reliable amps
Cheers Ratking, thanks for your help.

Good Morning
I did venture out there once. I walked from the city centre, so I had to make sure that my purposeful stride was clearly visible as I passed all the 'massage parlours'. I'm told it can be quite challenging to buy anything off the bloke!
Its always an entertaining visit, as long as you don't mind the lovely surroundings of Old Market. the last time I went in Steve was happily swigging from a bottle of Smirnoff Blue and chain smoking and a quick pop in lasted 45 minutes. The best bit was that I could see the backs of 3 interesting basses which turned out to be a pre Ernie Ball Stingray and 2 70s Guilds . When I asked about them he said they weren't on display as he'd rather sell a £100 Tanglewood than have people w*** over a £1000 Guild. You've got to love it, its a brilliant shop. Treblerock will try and sell you stuff (usually a Mark Bass rig) but for the experience Ladyland must be the best shop in the country.
