  1. The photos give no useful information. If the relief appears to be set correctly and it still seems wrong, I would take it to a trusted luthier and ask for a diagnosis. In my case that would probably be Martin or John at the Gallery in Camden.

  14. For anyone who clicked on the link in the first post and is wondering about all the negativity in the last few replies, the youtube link posted by supernaut leads to a track by some tÏt with facial tattoos who requires autotune to be applied to his doggrel-flavoured rapping, not the young lady playing bass & singing.
  15. Yes of course — if it wasn't a wonky looking fender copy it wouldn't have the wonky looking pickguard. Fender did something similar in around 1989 with the 'boner' jazz as it was known, but as it only had 22 fret it wasn't quite as extreme.
  16. I've just recalled what they remind me of — Those folded faces that were a bit of a meme a while ago
  17. Is it just me or does anyone else think the body on these is really weird and stumpy-looking? I imagine they would look a lot less weird if had been designed without a pickguard/control plate https://www.andertons.co.uk/brands/sire/sire-marcus-miller-series-bass-guitars/sire-v-series-basses/sire-v5-basses/sire-marcus-miller-v5-24-fret-4-string-fretless-bass-guitar-vintage-white

  23. Nitro *should* be easier to touch up than other finishes as each layer applied sinks into the previous due to the solvent in it.
  24. I really like the 40-95 set of cobalt flats on each of my thunderbirds. After at least three years they're still going strong I don't remember them feeling sticky or grabby, but I do keep my strings clean with dunlop ultraglide 65 string cleaner and conditioner — which is sold as an alternative to fast fret, and like fast fret is just scented mineral oil with a felt applicator, but being in liquid form in a bottle it doesn't dry out like fast fret. I've noticed that Thomann has the new short scale cobalt flats. I'm quite tempted to get a set for my Squier jag SS.
