  1. After relying on my clip-on tuners for a very long time, I've recently put a Boss TU-3 on my pedalboard. It is rock solid, accurate and reliable.
  2. We're bass players not lead guitarists
  3. Innocence Decayed - The Residents
  4. Peaches - The Stranglers or: Peaches - Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band
  5. I doubt any of our punters would notice what I'm playing even if I left my bass at home and played a kazoo instead.
  6. Send Me A Postcard - Shocking Blue
  7. Planet Waves has always been a D'Addario sub-brand. If it has a lifetime warranty its probably worth contacting them via the link at the bottom of https://www.daddario.com/ If it has failed at one end, I would snip off the dodgy connector an inch or so from the end & solder on a neutrik.
  8. I have a CR5M which comes with the heavier tilt-back stand which is great. I've not had ant problems with it but this solution to replacing the bolt is inspired.
  9. I am looking to get a bass body refinished. The body has an existing roadworn factory nitro finish and will be sent for the refinish with all hardware removed. What names should I be looking at, where in the country are they based, and what are they likely to charge? I've not decided on a colour yet, but I'm leaning towards candy apple red, so doing it on the cheap with rattle cans probably won't cut it.
  10. The Fender Mikey Way Jazz is certainly a looker. If I wasn't so into shortscales I'd be really tempted by thay one.
  11. The location of the original auction was listed as Camden, so I would think it likely that the original owner ended the auction early and took the bass to the Gallery for them to sell on commission. In my experience they ask how much you want to sell for and use that as the asking price before suggesting a valuation. It looks like a lot of work has gone into the carving, but I think it would need a more upmarket neck & tuners rather than the chinese squier affinity bits to be seen as a £900 instrument even for someone who is into dressing up as a pirate when they play - if anyone like that exists.
  12. It needs the same screws as the pickguard
  13. Neutron Dance - The Pointer Sisters
  14. Yes - it sounds like something that'll get you on some kind of list at the police station
  15. Snap your fingers - ZZ Hill
  16. Get Back In Line - The Kinks
  17. I'm Walking Behind You - Sam Cooke
  18. I'm afraid I don't understand the phrase "male grooming routine"
  19. Lettuce Love - Bill Withers
  20. Diamonds and Gold - Tom Waits
  21. (Alternate Title) Randy Scouse Git - The Monkees
  22. This one from thomann is huge, so its probably not a good choice: https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_gigbag1_bass_heavy.htm Apart from the inconveniently oversized thomann one I also have a discontinued ritter one I bought many years ago which is perfect, so one of the ones in their current range would probably be a good choice.
  23. But are aluminum pickguards better for metal?
