  1. Mike, the 500 fan will activate after the amp has been driven a bit. Light noodling will not make it activate'. Hope this is clear enough?
  2. Last bump from me. Hope it helps you clinch a deal.😘
  3. This bass was made by Overwater for me. I chose the woods, the ebony board, etc. Whoever buys this will have a fine instrument. Bump for memories. GLWTS This is not a mahogany body - it is American Black Walnut and the neck has purpleheart stringers. English walnut facing on the headstock. Dual Kent Armstrong designed pickups.

  5. It's men like Dusty Hill who make me proud to play bass. His band made me happy. His music made me dance. His style made me envious. Although now gone, he will live in my mind forever as one of the good guys. Bye, bye sharp-dressed man. Thoughts are with his family, Billy and Frank. Thank you for everything.
  6. This has degenerated into standard stories of specs, jugs and brock and roll and should be badged as such.
  7. I joined Basschat almost nine and a half years ago and am now, according to the new 'improved' system, a 'rookie' with two watts! Look forward to the next ten years, when I might make 'owns a bass' status. "Hard boiled eggs and nuts!"
  8. I also think the badge thing stupid. We could always give them back like the Beatles. Fire millions of them at the Administrators. "You say you want a revolution ... ..." 😆
  9. Guilty as charged, but I did not shoot no deputy!
  10. Eric Clapton and George Harrison liked Badge(s) and Jack Bruce sure gave it a good bassline.😉
  11. An Avon (Rose Morris) EB0 copy in a sort of dark wine red colour. Played and sounded ok until the tension of the flatwounds, literally pulled the whole bridge out of the body. Fixed it and last heard it was in Canada of all places. Here's proof it existed from 1975
  12. Thanks for responding Rtotheroscoe. Best wishes for a successful sale. It looks good enough to serve with strawberries and cream. (Yes, I am in therapy!)😜
  13. I think you'll find it's a walnut body - not mahogany. 😉
  14. Overwater now have their own owners'/potential owners' forum. Anyone interested should ask the guys on there for an opinion/advice 🤔 .
  15. Me again!😊 I've had four Wals in my time and Overwater in my view beat them hands down. That's why I now have no Wals!
  16. Yep, seems about right. I traded it back to Chris for another Overwater. A fine bass, if a heavy beastie!
  17. Just scrolling around and saw this photo of the seven stringer. Seems a 'debate' as to whose it is 🙂 but I can say, without any doubt, it was mine first: built to my specs, I chose the woods, etc. delighted to see that it is still being enjoyed and played Snorkie 635
  18. Having looked across my living room and checked with this thread, I now know what these things with strings and twirly-bits at the end of their necks are! All I know is that there used to be not nearly enough and four more additions means absolutely no change in status. I need a doctor, or a vet to put me out of your misery.
  19. Any problems of this nature and I thoroughly recommend Chris McIntyre of McIntyre guitars in edinburgh. He fixes things and makes them work!
