  1. Will get onto it for you.
  2. It is indeed, but it'd rather mingin' and the rest of the bass is pristine. I want to tidy it up a bit.
  3. Yep, my headstock tuners are all the same
  4. Every day is a school day. I'd never heard of that before. Ta muchly
  5. Thank you for this one. Will give it a go - elbow grease, I'm afraid. ☹️
  6. You are, of course, correct. It's my OCD KICKING IN. 😁
  7. OK. Just thought you might not have seen it. Good luck.
  8. My bass-playing son uses a plectrum (I don't). He 'borrows' my basses occasionally and black scratchplates, especially, can appear a bit worse for wear when the bass comes back. Just wondered if there's a miracle cure out there? Thanks folks. Snork
  9. Bump for nostalgia and a fine bass
  10. You might be underselling this Bassman - check Guitar Guitar pre-owned basses section on their site. GLWTS Snork
  11. Very fine example sir. It WILL go. Best of luck.
  12. Beautiful. Someone will surely snap this one up. Best of luck.
  13. Very best of luck. These things are soooooo frustrating!
  14. Take the ball-end of your thumb and with the bass tuned to pitch, press hard on the E string just the fretboard side of the saddle. Tune the E to pitch again. Sometimes an E string needs to have that slight 'kink' in it to sound properly. Hope this helps you.
  15. I've seen a bass with something similar from Mighty Mite? could be waaaaaaay off though.🤔
  16. Cheers Alex. Sounds like a plan. Enjoy, whichever way suits you.
  17. This one. (Not the SF Yamaha 1000) Been gigging this Ripper for 47 years.
  18. Yes. It defies any logic. Maybe one day, at least one may 'surface'
  19. Note that you can switch strings to whichever order suits your personal playing style. (Need to swap tuners around in most cases). Depends on which string -root/octave - you want to strike first. I never have noticeable tuning issues with one saddle per pair of strings, it all adds to the overall 'jangle'.
  20. Never seen a flatwound set, although that doesn't mean they don't exist. I use round-wound Rotos for maximum 'twang' on my Ric. Good luck
  21. Yes, the first 'cheappie' basses are the one's you can never replace. I think they simply vanish into bass Valhalla at some point, gaining legendary status.
