1. Bump - Pickups changed to Bartolini PJ now, which make it a great bass. But recent acquisition means this one has to go. Cash price back to 450£, but will consider trades.
2. Bump, with small price adjustment
3. Hi all, I recently got this because I was curious to revisit my difficult relationship with Precision basses - and took me one hour to remember why they are simply not for me. But who can resist a vintage Ibanez fretless? So up for grabs is this rather lovely vintage fretless "lawsuit" Silver Series Ibanez. Made in Japan in 1978. The condition is strikingly good -with no apparent damage anywhere! - and everything works fine. The somewhat figured maple fretboard is just perfect, neck is fine with no dings, headstock intact, body with slight traces of use. Not bad for a 35 year old bass, I am impressed! It obviously has always been strung with flatwound strings, and both I and the previous owner have used it very little. The action is REALLY low with no buzz whatsoever. The condition of the bass speaks for the quality of craftmanship back in the day, I guess. The edge of the fretboard has dots and lines, very helpful to intonate while preserving a clean fretboard on the front that looks quite stunning, to be honest. The pickup is a Seymour Duncan basslines (don't know the exact model, but it sounds very vintage), which I understand is an improvement over the original. May be open to trades, but I prefer cash on this one (paypal is ok). 350£ shipped. I will ship in a basic rockbag gig bag, but safely packed. Thanks! how's the tone on this one? I've never heard/touched a Shuker...
5. bump for a true modern classic trades I might consider include Spector, other Zon models, Pedulla, MTD, Ken Smith, Dingwall... Any zingy throaty thang. 4 string preferred, but I don't discard 5ers. I also love ACG basses! No acoustic basses, no jazz /precision type, humbuckers and maple fingerboards preferred (in general).
6. Close up of the mahogany grain, which I've always found beautiful...
7. Thanks - I wish I knew... Bought it from Station Music in Germany maybe ten years ago, but it had been sitting there for a while I think. Serial nr is 60xx33, if that helps.
8. Hi In a moment of madness, I am considering parting with my beloved Zon Legacy Elite (NOT Standard). No need for lengthy introductions as it has all the typical features: 4-string, 34" scale, walnut top, mahogany body, phenowood fingerboard, set graphite neck, Bartolini ("BP") PUs, ZP2D preamp with 3-band eq, vol, bal, high gloss finish, Gotoh tuners, abalone dot inlays. These don't pop up often, for a reason I guess. It is in excellent condition, I am the first owner. There is only a chip of the paint at the top of the headstock worth mentioning (pictured). A couple other slight dings that are very difficult to photograph (but I can try for the interested buyer). Will ship in a Hiscox hard case or gig bag, as preferred by the buyer, but safely packed and shipped with UPS. 9. Bump - the Yamaha will probably get an OBP-3 so this is still available in its U-retro glory
10. Last bump before the East pre is transplanted to my Yamaha (also currently FS), as that just sounds wonderful unplugged... Last price on the Baron is 375£, which is a bargain imho
11. I have an almost identical one and it is, by far, the best jazz type I've tried... Very elegant and flexible preamp, but even the passive tone is excellent. GLWTS
12. It's to replicate the portion of string beyond the nut that you would have in standard headstocks, so that you can, say, play a harmonic then press down (or sideways) on the string after the nut to apply vibrato. Easiest on the G string, of course. An old MK trick.
13. Bump and slight price reduction
14. Bump and price reduction
15. Bump - ideal instrument for gigging bassist on a budget wanting a quality and reliable 4-string
16. Up it goes. Pics and sound clips available on demand - just pm and tell me what you want to see/hear. Incoming Marleaux means unfortunately this one has to go.
17. I'm seriously tempted by this now. Lucky me I can't collect. Gorgeous.
18. Bump
19. Hi For sale this rare instrument I got from BCer chuckstones a while ago. Just because I really need to reduce my collection now. It is a 1996 limited edition instrument and allegedly one of the best basses Tanglewood has ever produced. This is easily on par with basses two or three times as expensive (and I've had a few). Neck through, with a beautiful grain in the 5-piece neck (wenge), rosewood fingerboard, brass nut, Bartolini PUs in PJ configuration, and the slimmest (maple) body I have ever seen! Immaculate construction, reminds me of 80's neckthrough basses built in Japan, but much lighter. The neck is a breeze to play, again very flat and slim. The tone is very punchy, growly and modern, not too far away from Warwick or Spector. It basically plays itself. It has had an East U retro deluxe pre fitted, so concentric vol/bal, concentric hi/lo (push pull for bright), concentric mid/mid freq, push pull on tone knob for active/passive. Needless to say, the range of possible sounds is astonishing. Set up with very low action. Gold Gotoh hardware. Weighs a bit less than 4 kg. I'd easily keep it, but I have too many basses, and a new arrival means this one has to go. Original sales thread here: http://basschat.co.u...h-east-pre-amp/ Will include the original EMG Select PUs the bass came with. The bass is in very good condition, hardware slightly tarnished, some dings (see pics below for the most apparent on sides of the body, small anyway) and some scratches near the input jack (again see pic below). So, lovers of modern tones, slim bodies and necks (and brand agnostics), here's a good chance to grab a phenomenal bass for little money. Shipping from Barcelona included, in a standard hard case (or gig bag if preferred). Check my feedback here on BC if in doubt. Any questions, just pm please. Thanks! Updated pic with Bartolini PUs:
20. Well built, very average sound - I've tried four of their pedals (for guitar)
