1.
I live closer to Newton Abbot than exeter, and work in Exmouth, so happy to deliver anywhere between or within 10 miles ish of either for a pint! I was PM'd last night, and we now have a highest bid of £40.
I have family and friends around there who could collect you see I'll have a think!
2. Could you ship? How close to exeter are you? Cheers! Alex.
3. Would you be-able to do a deal on a couple of the books? Alex.
4. Anyone? Or is a different bridge i.e. schaller the only option? ALex.
5. Hi... just bought a MIM 5 string Jazz, and was looking at putting a bad ass on it. I read the sticky about badass', but have one more question. The bridge on my bass has a 3 screw at the back, 2 at the front arrangement, whereas the badass 5 seems to have a 6 at the back arrangement. Has the layout changed recently, and can i fit a badass to mine without drilling extra holes? Cheers! Alex.
6. What do people think then - new or 2nd hand at that price? Cheers.
7. Oh, just had a look on thomann again. theres a 'FENDER MEXICO JAZZ V Upgrade' and a 'FENDER MEXICO JAZZ V' whats the upgrade bit mean? Cheers.
8.
there is a blue one on ebay at the minute for £265 BIN is it yours? Is it?
No, i was looking at it, but cant decide about it price wise. I thought i could get that, and spend the difference on a bad ass or case or something. But, new from Thomann they are hardly anymore - decisions! What do people think?
9. What do people think the going rate for a used but in ver good condition mim fender jazz 5 should be. Cheers! Alex.

11. I use them on my fretted 5, and used to only play with a pick. I found that, with a pick, the coating did wear off, but it had no adverse effects on the sound. Never used to bother me tbh... they still seemed to last for ages even when the coating from the picking area had worn away....
12.
I have a quick question/s for you actually. Do you play upright? Did you ever play upright here? Were you made to feel like you have to play upright? Cause i have basically pushed towards it, not a problem now as I am really enjoying it, but i just wondered.
I dont play upright no... I was made to feel like I should, and various people did try and get me to, but I decided not to. Initially, it was because I thought that I should really get my stuff together on the electric (I didn't really play jazz before i started the course, so had a lot of work to do) and didn't want another thing to worry about. Later, I just decided it wasn't me... once I'd told arnie this, he was cool - I still think Jeremey would be happier if I played upright tho . I know theres a new silibus (spl?) that started for your year; that might mean you have to play upright? Swing isn't really my thing; and I dont really listen to that many upright bassists. I think not playing upright has limited me as far as playing and getting gigs go (most people on the course just dont seem to understand that you can play jazz on the electric), but electric bass is me, and its what i want to play! Hope you get on with your new bass - when are you getting it?
13. Hey... Yeah i've got one of those! Arn't you at the conservatoire? Im the bassist in the 3rd year ... Ive really got on with mine, im gonna remove the ramp thing today, and have a play around with the action - but I've had it for over 6 months, and it my favourite bass... I've hardly touched my fretted since i got it! All the tunes on my myspace page (www.myspace.com/alexjenningz) are recorded on mine. Cheers! Alex.
14. As it says in the title really.... All the tunes are composed by me, then arranged/molested by my the band! We recorded them live stylee (all recorded at once, no click tracks here!) and they were mixed very quickly by a sound egineer we know because dead-lines were looming. Im looking at having a play around with the mix, and boosting the bass a little - its a bit low unless you have quite a 'bassy' setup. Please let me know what you think - post here, or on my page... tunes are here; www.mypace.com/alexjenningz Cheers! Alex.
