1. Sold, many thanks.

Beautiful 2013 Fender Jazz deluxe V. Active 18v preamp, N3 noiseless pickups, 3 band EQ, active/passive switch and passive tone control. It's got everything!
These are seriously well made instruments. Beautiful player currently strung with premium Elixir strings. I have had a ramp professionally made and fitted by Mike Walsh of Iceni Zoot but this is removable. Comes with the Fender hard case which you could drive a tank over. £950 firm - might consider vintage Fender precisions as trades.

I've owned it since new, and I've looked after it. There is some chipping of the finish around the jack area - I've photographed it, please check below. Also a minor ding on the back of the neck, also photographed, but not noticeable when playing.

I'm based in Chelmsford, Essex. Feel free to come try it out! I am also gigging around the UK so may be near you.

    Thanks! The all important pictures:

  2. This is a real rarity! A Jeff Berlin Palaedium from the early 90s. These were not in production long so they come up very rarely. I spent years finding this one!

They are known for their ultra-slim, fast rock-maple necks which has dual graphite reinforcement and an ebony fingerboard.

Three piece alder body with 6degree tilted peg head and deep cutaways for maximum playing ease. 34" scale.

Passive fully humbucking quad coil pickups (!) designed by Bartolini with Jeff Berlin just for this bass. He used to play a stock one of these, by the way!

The neck radius is quite flat - 17", and very comfortable. 21 frets. Badass II bridge. Graphite nut. Gold hardware.

Colour is 'honey', I believe. The bass is really nicely balanced, and weighs 8.5lbs.

Generally very nice condition - the truss rod plate at the top of the neck is missing but not particularly noticeable.

Sound is great - if you love the punchy jaco sound, it's there. If you want a precision thump, it's there. With both pickups on it sits in the mix beautifully. The controls are Vol/blend/tone and the volume control has been optimised not to filter out high frequencies at low volumes.

Based in Chelmsford, Essex (CM2) but gigging all over the UK so possibly near you!
I got this without a gigbag but I can probably find one in the loft for you :)

    Cheers!

Was in digital village a few years back buying stuff for with a band I was in... 2 keyboards, 4 pa speakers, mics and stands... Already rung up on the till... The guitarist then decided he'd like to try a new fender amp. When we asked the sales guy if he could audition it he said "I'm not getting it from the store room unless you definitely buy it" when we explained we'd like to hear it first he said "can't you just imagine what it sounds like?"
Needless to say I've never been back to "the imaginarium" since...

Ridiculous. I would have been tempted to walk out and get the gear from somewhere else. You'd think they'd be falling over themselves to add more onto an already big sale.

  4. I know what you mean about Music Shops, I've had similar experiences, but I've also had very positive ones (namely Wunjo Bass in Denmark St, London and Bass Gear). Had a less than positive experience at Bass Direct this year thats put me off dealing with them. Positive customer service is so important, the guys at Wunjo have really nailed it.

  5. I've used a mono M80 for years - it is built like a tank, looks like new after many gigs and provides lots of protection. I recently added the double Mono M80 too and that's great too (if slightly heavy but 2 basses are always going to be heavy!). I also recently bought the SKB Bass safe, a hard bass case into which you put your bass in its gig back (a mono M80 just fits) which provides LOADS of protection - I'm going to check it on a plane. If you get an SKB Bass safe try to get the later ones with the strap and lock rather than the flight case locks as these were prone to coming open.
