  1. For sale are my almost-unused Shure SE535 limited edition in-ear monitors. I have only used them twice, in soundchecks. No gigs. I have another set that I prefer the sound of. I've cleaned the buds and they feel as new. Great sound, and perfect for protecting your hearing. I think these suit singers/guitarists especially well, having heard the frequency response.

Can pickup from Chelmsford, Essex, or I can ship special delivery for £5.

  2. I got Mark at Limelight to build me a PJ bass - it's based on Adam Clayton's signature fender (for purely cosmetic reasons!) so it's like a 66 Jazz, green with matching headstock, pearloid PG, butterbean tuners, rosewood necks with blocks, PJ pickups and I asked for the controls to be Master Vol/Blend/Tone which is my much preferred to Vol/Vol/Tone.

It's an outstanding bass, sounds beautiful, looks awesome and it's been my preferred bass on tour over a 71 P, 75 Jazz and USA deluxe Jazz.

EDIT: Not sure if my pic links are working, here's another (hopefully)

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned before, try a Limelight. :)

Yes, this. I absolutely love my P/J limelight ( kind of modelled on Adam Clayton's 66 Jazz -not because I'm a fan, just because I love the look) and I took it on tour in Germany over a USA deluxe jazz, 1975 jazz, 1972 Precision....absolutely wonderful basses.

    Hi All,

I'm soon to be looking for a bass teacher in or around Chelmsford. Does anybody on here teach or can anybody give me a recommendation?

My current experience level is fairly minimal. Taught myself in the past (and not very well) but I want to get back into playing and learn properly this time.

    Many Thanks,

    Paul

Hi Paul. I'm a bass teacher in Chelmsford, I'll send you a message.

    Regards

    Mike

    My two penn'orth

A lot of shops you go into, there seems to be an immediate assessment of whether you're going to buy or just "waste time". I've never felt like that in BD. they just let you get on with stuff. If you want to know something, you have to ask. If you're happy on your own, they won't hassle you.

Glad you've had positive experiences. I went in making it clear I was looking to spend almost a grand on gear that they had in stock - yet the salesperson (not Mark) was very disinterested - bordering on rude at one point.

I was looking for a vintage Precision recently - and I decided not to use Bass Direct so that one experience has potentially led to them missing out on £2k of sales. I had some excellent service at the Gallery - Charlie was friendly, helpful, let me play anything I wanted (including a 50s P I said I couldn't afford!) and Martin came out and was also very helpful.

  6. I think you've got width and height round the wrong way but I don't know if it matters.

    HI all,

I'm trying to arrange collection for a bass in a hiscox case. It will be bubble wrapped also.

1, Which way do you measure it? Is the thickness the height or width?
    2, The dimensions are

    L -1175mm
    W - 349mm
    H - 65mm

    65mm seems very small???

    Any help would be fantastic

    Thanks
