  1. Wow, cool stuff. I've always liked Dingwalls. And always interested to be told that there is no learning curve with the fanned frets. Looking forward to seeing more pics! Are all Dingwalls active?

    Finally, after selling a whole HEAP of stuff, I've just put down a big old deposit on a new Shuker build!

    It's a four string jazz bass. Here are the specs:

    4 string J bass

    34" scale

    22 frets

    rock maple slab neck, fender style + headstock (neck will be same width and specs as my 1975 Jazz Bass)

    60s/70s carve

    headstock veneer to match body top, sprayed in transparent blue too

    two way truss rod

    carbon fibre reinforcement

    Birdseye Maple fretboard

    medium frets

    Blue Led side dots, mini toggle switching.

    Black face dots (6mm)

    brass, adjustable nut laquered black.

    satin finish on neck

    white ash body

    5A Flame maple top.

    Transparent blue finish.

    wetlook gloss topcoat.

    black hardware

    individual bridge units

    hipshot tuners (elephant ears)

    rubber knobs (Like 4-94 laklands)

    recessed neck bolts

    nordstrand fat stacks

    I have mocked up a Sadowsky I found with pretty much how I want it.
