  1. Here we have a bass that I had the body and neck made for me by a great luthier Sinisa Tot

Body is Ash with Zebrano centre piece to match the Zebrano fretboard

    Neck is walnut

I finished it in translucent red with a clear top coat, grain stained in black to highlight

Hand made pickup, cts pots and abalone knobs

    Wilkinson tuners

Will need a string tree installed but no issues as is when playing

Fresh set of flats and if memory serves me right they are chromes

42mm at the nut, medium jumbo frets

    weight is 3.5 kgs

Scale is 33 1/2 ish but I have not intonated it

Looking £120 delivered to UK addresses, body and neck alone cost me that

I think the neck does belong to that body. Everything points towards an abused early to mid 70's bass. The pickguard white layers also look too white for 59. It'd be strange for the body wood to be parted from all of its original components. As he says the pups are dated 74, so I'd put the bass at 74 earliest.

Totally agree and worth less than 3K

Ah ok. Was not aware of this.

That seems a bit crap of them alright :(

I have used Parcelforce for the last 10 years and in that time I have sent well over 50 Guitars with no problem at all, I do of course pack them well inside the case and then box but have on occasions sent with no case but firmly wrapped in bubble wrap, and Parceforce dont compensate for musical instruments and only offer £150 compensation as pe JWes but you do have to take several photos of the bass and packaging.

Dinna worry, I'm watching the tracking like a hawk, as soon as it's at the local depot, I'll be down there.  Pretty sure I read somewhere that you don't have to wait for the demand, you can just rock up and pay.

Yes that what I do, they will take your money at the depot or pay online before you go there

  5. Need this gone folks so im taking roughly 10% off the asking price, I can also accept a holding deposit to allow the new buyer some time to pay,  Now only £5950, has to be a bargain for this lovely vintage P bass

I had no intention of ever selling this for a good few years at least but due to a big domestic change in my life I have no choice as I need to raise the much needed funds....

So I acquired this from the owner who had bought it in 1968 and used it up until 2000 or so and in 2014 decided to get it re-fretted and finished in its original colour of Fiesta Red

I have the invoice from Ray Cooper Guitars in Herts outlining the work he carried out

    Body striped and refinished

Neck striped and refinished and refretted, new logo

Changed out the pots and new pickguard fitted and pickguard screws changed

The original scratchplate is there with the metal plate that was under it but he had his name ( Brian ) properly etched below the thumbrest

I had bought a 60's Plate that I got from walshy and used that instead

The new pots have now been replaced with a set of 1966 ones with the proper tone cap, not cheap..

The tuners have now got a set of 1962 Klusons fitted as the previous owner didnt like the reverse ones and installed the later models

It has been refinished to a very high standard and the neck is just sublime with a lovely flame at the back, weight is 3.55 Kg's

One of the leads came off the back of the pickup when dismanteled but has now been resoldered on

The previous owner did not play it at all since it was refinished so that is why he decided to sell and enjoy his retirement

This work cost £1080 in total, invoice will be in the case

The Fender case is from 1968 and is in a s new condition with the locking key , it was kept in a bag under the bed and never used

Just a few pics now but I will upload a lot more tomorrow

I have priced this due to the refinish and the non original pots but I know that the new owner will not be dissapointed, it really is a cracking bass

Serious offers will be considered, case can be removed from the sale to help reduce the price if that helps.

Any questions guys please fire away

Depends on what you want for it. I'd love a Dec 62 as it's my DOB but suspect there might be a teensy weensy gap between your price and what I can afford :)

The value is what people will pay and if some stockbroker wants a Dec 62 bass, the chances of me competing with them is slightly less that square root of Foxtrot Oscar.

    Rob

Prices have gone mad Rob, mine is a Sept 62 which has been refretted and refinished in its original fiesta red, neck was also refinisshed by a reputable Luthier in Hemel so I will not get the market value as it would be classed as non original but it has been very well finished and lightweight...

  7. Fendar Jazz CIJ

looking up the serial gives me 2002/2004 or 1993/94

Antique white which has gone a deep creamy yellow colour, first pic is the colour in the flesh

    Weight is 4.2 kg's

Stickers removed from the back so you can still see the outline remaining

Various dings and some paint chips which I have tried to capture as much as possible

Nut replaced with a brass one

Frets in good shape with some wear at the headstock end

This is a players bass and has been used

All working as it should and as far as I can tell all original

Priced to sell so no offers or trades please, I need to get some space back

    Any questions please fire away.

  8. I got this Precision a few years back and when I recieved it the truss rod was seized with no movement at all so I took it to my Luthier

friend Sinisa Tot who builds guitars bith electric and acoustic and is a first class builder

He removed the fretboard completly and installed a new truss rod, fretbaord and frets and this turned out perfectly

The body had been striped down to natural before i got it but I think it may have been black originally as some of the cavity is black

I had the body refinished in antique white with some light relicing, back of the neck is in good shape

Just to verify, the body and neck are from 71 as are the tuners, pickups, bridge, scratchplate and bridge cover

The pots have been changed and the current ones date to 1979, knobs are original, scratchplate has shrunk a bit which is quite common with these older plate

Bridge cover is original but the holes for the screws have been plugged hence the larger slotted screws. Tug bar is new, not too sure about all the screws

I think the neck could do with a slight shim to bring the action a little lower but it was fine for me, the G string bridge screw is a bit stiff and difficult to move

    Nut width is 40mm

Weight si 4.8 Kg's and is typical for this era

I had the pickups out when it was taken apart to check the date and I can confirm that they are 71's , if needed I can take out again to verify but would prefer not to in case of damage

Pictures were taken on my phone for the dates but having changed my phone since then cant find they but will keep looking

I have a nice hard rectangular case from 1968 which I will include

Had this been all original the price would be more than double so i think I have priced this accordingly

    New flats installed

I need to source some proper screws for the pickups so apologies for the sticky out ones on it

Any questions welcome and I will try and answer to the best of my ability
