  1. It’s currently on hold for me, I hope!! I fully intend to buy it, just waiting for wayne58 to return from a trip to arrange the transaction 👌
  2. *sensible offers considered* *hilarious offers welcome* *no trades* *I have dropped the price to £1500 as I need the cash slightly more urgently* *on a long enough time-line, I will eventually pay you to take it away* Ad begins here... WOW! A Custom, Shorter, Shuker Jazz with chambered body?!🤩 Would anybody like to buy it? I have a Shuker P bass which has become my work-horse, so this one barely gets used. It still smells of new paint when I open the case! Included is a Hiscox hard case. It’s the thicker version of their already tough case. Courier can be arranged for delivery, or collection in person. I’m in Norwich, NR7, or I’m willing to meet somewhere along the M11 like Bishop Stortford/Birchanger Services, but message me to chat about how the transaction might take place. If you would like to use a courier, I have used Direct Courier Solutions in the past who are very efficient and seem to act as a specific high value item insurer and then use DPD for the collection and delivery. You can arrange this, or any other courier, at your own cost once I have received the funds. I will also include 2 spare, spangly pick guards along with the black one that is currently installed. Here be the specs of the bass… 33”scale 20 frets 38.5mm nut width 19mm string spacing 20.5mm neck depth at 1st fret 22.5mm at 12th gentle C carve maple neck fender style headstock rosewood fretboard block pearloid markers from 1st fret white board binding two way truss rod carbon fibre reinforcement medium stainless steel fret wire bone nut Schaller BM lites Headstock sprayed to match body Alder body chambered body polyester basecoat colour tbc colour coat gloss topcoat chrome control plate chrome hardware Gotoh bridge J pickup set, custom overwound Mojo Passive vol, vol, tone Thanks for looking. 3. Hi bass chums. It’s time for me to buy some new in ears, because my ears have outgrown my current moulds, and I’ve decided to go for some without the active “Live!” system from ACS... mainly because they only make a passive system now 😆 If you’re looking at this then you probably already know what it does, but it only works with the ACS T1 in ear monitors that have tiny microphones in them for picking up ambient stage sound. If I could have this same setup again I probably would, but as I say, they don’t make it any more. They used to sell this unit for £400+. This one is still in great shape, all works well. It’s always been kept and used in the leather pouch they made for it, and been stored in a hard shell peli case between gigs. It’s in top condition! I’ll also include two right angle, mini jack cables (made one as a spare in case the other failed, but it never did) that are used to connect the pack to your wireless IEM receiver or monitor feed from the desk. This pack will only work with the 12 pin connector that comes with the ACS IEM’s. I’m not sure if it’s a proprietary plug, but I’ve not seen it used on any other band or music related stuff. Apologies if I’m wrong on that, I’m just reiterating that it won’t work unless you have the T1 IEM’s (or possibly a different model made around the same time, I’ll let you research that). Anyway, if you’re looking at this you’re probably thinking of buying it as a spare or replacement and have the plugs already. I’ve taken some pics of it with the batteries in so you can see it working, but I will not be sending it with batteries. I can post anywhere in the world for the appropriate postage fee. It will be very well and carefully wrapped, bagged, boxed, taped securely before posting of course. *offers welcome*... no trades 🤘 Give me a call or text or WhatsApp or email or BassChat message if you are interested or have any questions. Thanks Joe 07752332910 [email protected]

  5. Sorry, it’s been a while since I checked in here... Would be good to hear from someone who has one, but I guess no one on here has taken the $160, plus P&P, plunge yet. I’ll check out the talkbass link now. thanks y’all.
  6. Yeah I’m not too bothered/bogged down by the science of this design... and there’s plenty of discussion around transference of energy and how that affects sustain etc. I’m more interested in how it feels to play with the strings like that and I’d like to know if the string ball-end cup (saddle contact point) can go low enough, without the need for a neck shim, for low action. Also, do the not-a-saddle posts rotate (however slightly) when you pluck a string? I’d like to think there’s a way to lock them down.
  7. Does anyone have a Ray Ross saddle-less bridge? I’ve watched all the setup and advertising videos, but there aren’t any proper consumer reviews yet. Some real-world feedback would be great! Cheers, Joe
  8. 100% agree with you about the clear and honest reproduction. That’s pretty much word for word what I said after I first used my Spartan and VK 210 cab. My bass sounds like... umm... wait for it... MY BASS, which I don’t think I’ve ever experienced in all the amps/cabs/combos I’ve tried and owned. I was drawn to the simplicity of the Spartan. In a world of ever more complicated bass related gadgets and gizmos with trillions of customisable options. I just want to plug in and play with minimal faff and distraction. Would anyone like to pay me to write a full and proper review? 😉
  9. You’re asking the wrong guy... but I think so yes! That’s the idea in the combo cab. I’ve just had a message from someone who’s interested, so may have sold the head and 210 cab. I’ll update as soon as I know more. I’m in Norwich.
  10. Super clean, full working order set of Hipshot Ultralites. 1/2 inch post size These were bought from BassDirect a few years back. They’re £25 each to buy new. Exact measurements are shown in the images. Thanks for looking! Call or text or BC message if you’re interested. Joe 07752332910
  11. Set of used Delano Jazz pickups. These were £200 new from Bass Direct a couple of years ago. Served me well in an American Jazz. I’m selling the bass so took these pups out. http://www.delano.de/products.html?&cHash=c874c8908f&tx_smtdelano_pi1[series]=5&tx_smtdelano_pi1[strings]=5&tx_smtdelano_pi1[system]=34 They sound great, work well etc. The Delano foil logo has started to wear off, as you can see in the pics, but they still function just fine. Gimme a shout if you’re interested. Thanks for looking. Call or text if you’d prefer, Joe 07752332910
  12. Thanks Frank. That’s what I need, a definitive answer! I haven’t bought any batteries yet. Still researching, and have messaged PJB to ask for recommended UK battery suppliers. They have a list for US companies in the instruction manual, but not for UK suppliers. Joe ps. This wasn’t my topic originally. I was just hoping to find out how to connect an external battery without having to turn the thing over, unscrew the battery plate, remove the dead (50% depleted) battery, etc etc I’m getting closer to answers
  13. Yes that’s exactly what I’ve learned. An automotive battery will work, but as you say they are not designed to be discharged. Hopefully a couple of these from Screwfix will do the trick... https://www.screwfix.com/p/sealed-lead-acid-battery-12v-7ah-100-x-65-x-151mm/38315?tc=WA3&ds_kid=92700024372740006&ds_rl=1248181&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249481&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2tegqayz2gIVir_tCh3uDwKBEAQYASABEgJPmvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CLPv48-ts9oCFZfhGwodRxsBCA one as a spare for when the other is at 50% hahahhaha
  14. The recommended battery type for the PJBriefase is a Sealed Lead Acid Gel. According to what I’ve been reading... there’s no blanket answer to the question about discharge levels for all lead-acid-gel battery cells (unless I’ve totally misunderstood). Some boast a full discharge is possible, while others say it’s best to only discharge around halfway to get the most cycles. But how would you know what halfway was when you’re midway through your busking blues jam? Without taking your voltmeter out with you, I guess you’d have to charge it to full, then run it completely flat with a stopwatch to time it. Then you’d know what halfway was in time. Even that wouldn’t work because it depends what you’re playing (lower notes take more battery power right?), how loud the amp is set and several other factors to do with things I don’t want to understand... it’s far too complicated. I just want to play my bleedun bass!!!
  15. Thank you. Good knowledge. Good logic. Thank you. Joe
  16. Greg... did you ever find an answer to this question? How’s the PJBriefcase holding up after all these years? I’m going to do some busking so I’d probably like to have a spare battery on hand.
  17. Yes I get notifications within BassChat when logged in, but emails never used to work when getting replies to an ad post or private message. I just end up checking back every so often by logging in to make sure I’ve not missed something.
  18. £200 including recorded postage within the U.K. Hello and thanks for looking! This is a great “little” amplifier that’s only seen one gig. The rest of the time it’s been part of my practice setup in my living room, so never been worked hard. The one time I did take it out was to a small pub gig and it performed just fine through a TC 112... which it turned out was an 8ohm cab, so I wasn’t getting all the potential power from the 4ohm, 200 watt head! DOH! Anyway. Needless to say it’s in excellent condition (see pics), and would be fine for someone in need of a very compact amp head. It could easily fit in your hand bag Original box and paperwork included. There’s a snug (proper) fitting IEC power supply that I cannot claim is original, but it could be, that is also included. Selling due to getting a combo amp for practice instead. Call or text if you’re interested. Or message me on BC. I’m not currently looking for trades, thank you. Thanks, Joe 07752332910
