1. Hi, I know the answer is probably no, but is there any way to use the Genz Benz's headphone out without hooking it up to a cabinet? Just seems a bit stupid to have the headphone out not mute the signal to the speakers, defying the whole reason for the output. Any ideas?
2.
One spot of research later, I give you..... http://vibedeck.com/thevibe
Fantastic work, soldier!
3. Can anyone tell me what a 'musical slut' is?
4. http://www.gumtree.com/p/community/bass-player-bassist-required-for-london-rock-band/1006207470 These guys must be making some seriously pure music, screw the system!
5. Seriously hoping nobody buys this before the new year haha, I'll be wanting one of these!
6.
Precisely! You younguns need to go back a bit farther to the '60's and the MoTown Sound to more fully understand what is happening here. James Jamerson stuck a piece of foam rubber under his strings at the bridge to control the ring of the open strings he was not playing at the moment. These sympathetic tones can be controlled with proper left hand technique but it is my theory that Jamerson was always so drunk, he needed the foam in the studio. Gibson marketed basses for a while with an ugly slider to engage a foam mute. Reminds me of the Coke bottle in the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy. The MoTown Sound was a watershed culmination of jazz, gospel and pop. Muscle Shoals was next to carry on.
Time to delve into some music history me thinks! Now to find a decent drummer to help me with this haha!
7.
Anything like this I expect to see an ebs rig in the shadows during live shows! Which is odd as ebs _freak once told me that in the states they were marketed and seen as a modern r and b rig yet in their homeland and mainland europe most people see them as a metal bands go too rig
Cool, thats the amp side sorted, any ideas about basses? Sounds almost flatwound/foam muteish
8. VW Fox can fit 3 basses in gator hard cases, a 4u 19" rack case and an Aguilar 4x10, a 6 ft9 driver and an acoustic guitarist and make it to devon and back on half a tank, who needs land rovers, eh?
9. Going back through my musical library now I notice the bass more thanks to bass playing, and this has a phenomenal bass sound to it, any ideas how to achieve something close to it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8jdyIcHDJw
10.
I must agree their customer service is top notch. Single screw one sounds like the gotoh replacement ones. Send them an e-mail and they will advise. I,ve got 2 of my basses fitted with them-excellent.
Yea I thought a gotos, but the screw is in the wrong place. its at the top, not the bottom.
11.
If I was you I would contact Hipshot via email and also drop Overwater a line for clarification. I contacted Hipshot 2 or 3 yrs ago to ask for advice on which Xtender I needed for one of my Laklands and they were incredibly friendly and helpful. I found their customer care to be fantastic and they sorted me out (they even sent me freebies). Top company!
Cheers, will get on that!
12. Any ideas on which Xtender would be the best fit for a Overwater/Tanglewood Classic J. The tuners they have have a singe screw on the top of the tuner, but none of the Hipshots have. What do?
13. Got an MXR M82 from him, he was quick to send, easy to get a hold off incase anything went wrong, but best of all, nothing did!
14. Just got a Aguilar DB410, and it came with removable casters, but I'd prefer if they were lockable, so the cab doesn't roll about on stage. Anyone have any ideas on whether there are suitable replacements?
15. I recently acquired a 4x10 Aguilar Cab and Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2. I am looking into getting the matching 1x15 cab, as there are moments when I want a nice thundery low end. Now, the Shuttle gives 900w at 4 ohms, the 4x10 is 700w at 8 ohms and the 1x15 is 400w at 8ohms. Does this mean that in total there is 1100w cabinet headroom or do I have to so some funky maths. Will I blow the 1x15 if I run it too hard?
16.
If I was using IEM's, especially a decent set that feature sound reduction, then I'd want a 'band mix' coming through the earpieces and not just my bass signal.
Good point! What would you sugest then?
17. The programmable doesn't have a parallel out, but I dont use the regular output, so could I use that?
18. Hey, my live sound mostly consists of a Sansamp Programable DI and running into my Carvin Cyclopse, but sadly it has recent sh*t the bed. I have be thinking of using IEMs for my live sound, is there any way I can plug my DI straight into a Send and have it sat on my pedalboard. Sorry if the explaination is poor, I am currently running on Redbull to get my coursework done for university. Cheers!
19. Are you interested in trades? Have a Sansamp programable DI if you are(probably not haha)
20. One poorly captured board. Korg Pitchblack - Boss OC-2 - Joyo Ultimate Drive - EHX Micro Q-tron - TC Electronic Flashback Delay - Tech 21 Sansamp Programable DI. All powered by a VoodooLabs Pedal Power 2 +.
21. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I want to keep the Warwick. Sorry man :/
22. 5 string J-J pickup config, 2 band EQ, a workhorse warwick. Fairly good condition, but the guy I got it from had poorly installed straplocks, and has damaged the wood around the lower strap button, but I am taking this in to be repaired in someway.
