1. Bumping for Ampeg. Don't let the term 'Micro' throw you off. It's a smaller brother of the classic SVT, 200watts pumped through cabs designed to maximise every one of those watts. Good enough for Tony Levin and dUg Pinnick. Stack comes with the amp, 210 cab and cables. Classic Ampeg tone in a lighter package.

3. 1x Gallien Krueger 2001RB amp for sale. Price: [s]£600[/s] £500 This amp is ridiculously awesome, and there's a reason some of the best in the business use one. The package includes:

GK 2001RB
rack
power lead
instruction manual
foot control with cable
Amp specs: http://bit.ly/1MEZ64y Amp sounds: https://www.youtube....h?v=mnALtuDpFJ4 The amp is in perfect working order, clean and flawless. Even has the plastic still on the front. For obvious reasons, this amp is better for pick up. I live in London. I am willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet someone halfway. Thanks! 4. Ampeg Micro VR amp stack for sale. Technicals: http://www.ampeg.com...lassic/microvr/ Sound review: https://www.youtube....h?v=jZ9SR2xxM_A Bought new by me, and never gigged with. Clean and in full working order. The amp is incredibly punchy, and with the sealed 210 cab with Eminence speakers, output more sound than you'd expect. I've used active and passive, 4 and 5 string basses, and there's no quality loss on instrument combination. Amp/Cab stack: £300 Added housework: I have all boxes still. I'm not interested in trades, and will not split the stack. I live in London, and pick up is preferred. But will drive a reasonable distance to meet someone halfway. If you need shipping, those costs will be extra. Thanks! 5. Thanks for the words Bassists like Blasko, Scott Shriner, Roy Mitchell Cardenas, Justin Chancellor have them in their arsenal for their quality sound, and tough as anything.
6. Weight: TBA kg Straight from the Mesa website! No idea actually... it is a beast, but between the road case, and the casters on the cab itself... the only time I've had issues moving is on stairs. Rest is roll and rock!
7. For sale: £700 Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 412 Cabinet. Comes with a road case. http://www.mesaboogi...bass4x12-LG.htm The cab is in perfect condition, kept in the road case it's entire life. It was used as back line when The Darkness toured through the UK a few years back. To say this cab is amazing is an understatement. I won't be shipping this, so please get ahold of me to organise a pick up from my north London residence, or discuss any other arrangement ideas you may have. I'm generally not interested in Trades, as I'm looking to clear out surplus gear, but I'm a self-diagnosed gear junky so feel free to offer.

9. For anyone in the Birmingham area, my band 'Calatrilloz' plus a huge number of others are performing at The Roadhouse for Basement Fest 2014... a solid hard rock experience! Dates are set for 30th to 31st of Aug (Sat and Sun), £10 for full weekend tickets. More information here: http://www.theroadho...com/?q=node/897 Party on, Wayne!
10. A video I put together from recordings taken at our show a couple months back. Rockin' my Zon! https://www.youtube....h?v=lV8NilVhlLs
11. I have the bass big muff version (oops), but find pretty much everything you say is relevant to it as well. There are mods out there to help out, I know Chris W. from Muse is religious for the things, but his are modded heavily as well. I think my experience with it kind of stained my urge to try muff clones, as it was the fuzz sound itself that didn't do it for me. Fuzzrocious makes crazy cool stuff though, been tempted a few times. Hah, I never thought of toeing Sustain knob for a song... be fun to mod an expression control with it =)
12. In the theme of the LS-2 mentioned, another option to consider is a loop switcher, if you have board room. Ex: http://www.thegigrig.com/acatalog/QuarterMasterhome.html#SID=1 Good ones have silent switching.
13. The Sansamp BDDI is a great piece of kit, being able to save different setting and hooks you up with a DI. Definitely +1 vote for an all round overdrive. For compressor, this guy goes into depths that few have the tenacity to attend: http://www.ovnilab.com/ I have a big muff pi as well, and never really found the sound to my liking. It kind of buzzes itself into the background, with weak definition, even with switches turned. I did find a bizarre setting where it became a sweet boost pedal when chained in a certain way... was kind of surprising. But, using an IE Oxide now, it REALLY cuts and offers serious presence. I don't find it as diverse as some people, so mileage varies. And in my experience it needs to be first in the signal chain or it sounds dead. Even so, my search continues on this front for the perfect Fuzz.
14. A fun way to spend a day: cool toys, great people... thanks for organizing BC!
15. I know you're looking at a softcase for your needs, but for a pedal board that size... you may want to reconsider. They are really heavy, especially a fully loaded PT Pro. Soft cases usually don't come with wheels, whereas the hardcase will. The idea is one journey with everything... but the weight and awkwardness of the PT Pro in a softcase will most likely split that up anyways. Totally my opinion =)
16.
Not to steal your sale advert but what do you think of the 2001RB - been looking at one and you are the only person I know that has one. Wouldn't mind a quick run down on what you think of it and what it sounds like in a live situ. Cheers Dave
http://www.talkbass.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/1087/title/gallien-krueger-2001rb/cat/25
17. Agree with all the above. Different gear responds differently to different pedal arrangements. In my case, I use an Iron Ether Oxide for Fuzz and B7K for dirt, and I found the Oxide fuzz MUST come before my B7K dirt, or any pedal for that matter, or it just sounds weak.
18. I count on three occasions: 1) when there's a complete musical pause within a song, I'll count the space before coming back in. 2) when a pattern repeats for long section, I won't count beats but I will count how many times I've gone through the riff to keep track. 3) when I have to pedal a note on a proggy part, I'll count along. Thanks for posting that Yolanda video btw... well timed, as I'm just recently trying to get some backing vocals into my reportoire!
19. For a disco functions band... Disco uses a pretty clean, thumpy tone, so a compressor is definitely a solid starting point. You may also want an envelope filter.... I use an MXR BEF, it's a little dark sounding but I like it. An EQ pedal might be useful as well. That would be my list of disco 'essentials'. Maybe an auto-Wah if you want to get a little playful.
20. A huge thank you taking your time to listen and respond... my notebook is being frantically scribbled on! You put the issues much more clearly than I was able... you guys are awesaome! The drums are from a real drum kit, same with bass, the 2x guitars and vocals. The other stuff going on is programmed. We like the symphonic elements, but it's VERY challenging to mix regular rock instruments, let alone throwing in a bunch of orchestral parts. Rock on! Brett
21. Ahoy, Sorry to trouble people. If any have a few minutes free, and the will to share it with a bassist in a conundrum... We have a song that 51m0n has kindly offered his mixing/mastering services for. However, our vocalist/songwriter decided to attend the task as an exercise of his own skills.... of which he has many, but mixing is not (yet) one of those things. But he loves his mix and feels very strongly about it, thinking it could be set for mastering. I feel very strongly about it, for the exact opposite reason. And we've had quite the discussions. It's to the point he's asked me to collect the opinions of others. Of which, I agreed... if I am way off and the mix is solid, I want to know. If it's not a good mix, I would want to know that, too. Regarding that free few minutes... here is the link - there's only the one track. Please have a listen and feedback honestly.... on frequencies, levels, effects, vocals, instruments, the way we play or the way we sing... any feedback is adored and I will gift you with feelings of positive vibes! https://soundcloud.com/id-entity-1 (as reference, we are drums, bass, 2x guitars, vocals, the rest is programmed tracks) We are still going to have it and our other songs professionally mixed and mastered, but feedback helps us understand what we're doing and improve our trade. (And maybe get over our deadlock *cough*) Thanks a tonne! Brett
22. I'd like to come along =) For toys, I'll bring my Zon Sonus 5, and maybe my Ampeg Micro VRs... might be interesting for some people. I've a horde of pedals, so I'll figure something out. I live near Stratford in East London if anyone needed a lift. Car pool ftw!
23. Chiswick would work, near where I rehearse =) Actually the set up was more complicated, it came with round wounds, and I want to put flats on it. Added to that, it's a 6 string, and I couldnt find a store that sells. Enter ebay, except at over £65 for a set.... I figured I would ask around first, save time, a bit of money, and meet a cool bassist! EDIT: pffft to defretting my beautiful Wal.... Pfffft, I say!
