Very nice. I had my eye on one of the eastwood versions. I love the shape of them, if you get it let us know what its like!

Broke the E string first song in on my only bass. Had no other bass but carried on with the other 3 strings. Very strange rearranging my playing, everyone said it sounded fine but I thought it all sounded like I was playing disco bass lines

That is gorgeous!

Looking forward to pics of this.
Im kicking myself for never buying a squier supersonic which was going for a song brand new a few years back. I think that was a vista series as well -
I did a days work with him recently when he was recording the music with bbc wales orchestra for a tv series called human planet for bbc/discovery. (think blue planet but with humans- its on sometime in the new year)
here's a link:-

Hugely inspiring, intelligent and funny man. It was amazing to see him in the control room conducting the conductor! Love his work -
+1 on eltham and Dave, if they can't help I'm sure they can point you in the right direction!

haven't released anything in years so cant add much but a1cds helped an old band of ours out and were quite competitive. their website looks no different after 5 or 6 years though!

some nice kit
One day I shall get a starfire (or equivalent!) -
arrgh!! missed the isolated tracks
-
I had one of them with original case. I wonder if they'll ever be popular again? sold it to one of my best mates for 200 quid. He's doing loads of gigs with it

"Hey guys,hello to you all.
Im Stu, 26 from South Wales.
I used to post a lot under the name stu-khagool on the old Bassworld site until I moved and had no internet connection and then the site disappeared! Ho hum.
Anywhoos, getting back into my bass playing as Im starting to record again with friends and eventually want to start gigging.
At this present time I still have my beloved Mex Fender Bass which has had the various upgrades along the way, A Hamer Jazz style Bass (P and J pickups, Sting had one which was pointed out to me on the ole bassworld site) and I currently have an SWR 350 head and Triad cab being used as a bedside table and a Big old Laney combo as well.
Peace out and here's to '08
stu"
Christ I'm now 29, sold my swr rig and Hamer and still have the jazz. Here's to '11! -
I chose my jazz because of the offset shape and the neck was much nicer than the equivalent precision at the time. I have a one in, one out policy so if I was to find a precision then it would have to be pretty special!

Looks very nice. can I ask what the pickup selector switch does on a single pickup guitar? does it cut or boost the signal or something?

massive macca fan. Abbey Road has always been the definitive album for me to learn from.

There are plenty of owners on offsetguitars.com.
I've been wanting one for a while and a grand for a jap one seems about the going rate these days. I've been umming and ahhing over one of these for the last 6 months as a cheaper alternative

a hard to think about, I love the trainspotting one for born slippy. but I guess the one I listen to most is the big lebowski one, just for the kenny rogers track
-
I really look forward to more updates. I really want an bass vi but cant justify the money and haven't the skills or tools.
have you heard of http://www.offsetguitars.com forum? there's plenty of useful info on building a bass vi on there and people are often selling the various bits on there also. -
member 321!
your spam boat is up, and I'd reccomend some wizards for those slam dunks.
back on to the thread, good luck with the project. I'd love to do the course, I wonder how much it would cost or indeed if it was possible to do something like a bass vi? -
I've got an old Boss 4 track which has a stereo phono out on it, I just plug that into the mic port. Works great for what I do
-
The reason I started listening to them was through the super furry animals where they sampled just one line from showbiz kids and created a new song. (the man don't give a f***)
I like how every studio I've been in the producers/engineers are always big steely dan fans. one studio even had a painting of them on the wall. -
beautiful bass, alas I was born in 81. I'm guessing the equivalent bass for me would weigh twice that and look nowhere near as nice
-
does one of the pumpkins 33 singles have a picture of lenin on the cover? looking for that version as I've lost an inlay doh!

I'm so out of the loop of mainstream radio and tv music.
I was in my sisters car the other day and heard what I thought was the beatles with blackbird. Thought it was a trifle strange hearing the beatles on commercial radio. a few seconds later I realise its not them, turns out it was gary barlow and robbie williams.
I'm not a fan of u2 but love that line in the fly, Every artist is a cannibal. Every poet is a thief. probably true

just watched the show. Cyndi Lauper's neck looks like one of those slinky spring things. I don't normally comment on people's appearance but it was so bloody distracting. I honestly cant remember a word she said or anything she sung

the bass reminds me of a mexican fender a friend of mine had and I've seen it appear on this site. the name escapes me, I vaguely remember it being active with a 51 style plate.
EDIT- cowpoke!
