Great piece of kit the TD6 especially with the snare upgrade.
bargainous! -
loving this track!

I thought it was one of those spoof you tube vids where someone had dubbed some awful playing on top of it...
no sir, I dont like it! -
Fair enough.... but the body shape too?
classic, timeless shape thats comfortable to play.
Thats why I got my mex Jazz back in 2000. Cant say I'd buy one of those expensive ones though -
Ive seen this vid a few times,
Ive seen bands use it as visuals and looped it as well to great effect, makes me want an upright even more! -
Always been very happy with the female sound engineers...
One thing Ive noticed is that with every female engineer Ive encountered Ive never met one who seems jaded or really cynical about the whole live music thing... male ones on the other hand! -
super furry animals and grandaddy, Port Talbot '98. bit of a late bloomer at 15/16 for gigs because no bugger would play down my neck of the woods!

I was going to ask the same question.
Ive got a whammy xp collecting dust somewhere and lost the power supply ages ago. my line 6 power supply works with it though -
arrgh missed out on that one which is probably a good thing considering Im in the middle of buying a house
... beautiful -
here's an old pic of my fave guitar, must be about 6 years old now as I havent lived at home for nearly 5. its my ole US 62RI jazzmaster, a jap Jaguar (with weird modded electrics that was swapped for a tokai 335 copy) and my trusty old mex Jazz which is still my number 1 bass. eagle eyed peeps may also see an Ibanez overdrive 2 pedal from '72ish bought for a pound and also a '00' gauge trainboard that my dad has forever been sorting out. -
oh dear... if its true, tis a very sorry state of affairs-
apologies if its been posted before.

does make you think though, how many of our basses have been made using ethically sourced materials and is this ever a consideration when you buy a new bass? -
I almost bought one of the american traditional basses back in 2000. it was brand new in the shop, not sure how long it had been there. I was told by the shop owner it was essentially mexican parts put together in America. not sure how true this is though, bought a mim jazz instead which is still my number one
EDIT Oh yeah, it was the same price as mexican one back then. I think I paid 320 or 339? -

Anyone seen this?
looks beautiful- seems pretty cheap for what it is. -
saw them in cardiff about two years ago. something I think everyone should do as ya aint seen or heard nothing if you've never been to see them.
-
dear lord!
truly awful...
I sold one to a mate of mine about a year and a half ago for 200 quid. nice bass but just wasnt using it
-
tis all very annoying.
slightly off tangent but related-
have you noticed how mobile phones have given people a sort of get out clause to turn up late when they could easily make it on time. on the lines of - " its alright, I'll text them to tell them Im going to be late" -
Bought a fretless prose bass a month or two back. Helluva quick service and exquisitely packed.
cheers Deaver!!! -
I couldnt possibly comment on the Cardiff course but seeing as you are based in Wales, would you get cheaper entrance fees as a result of Welsh Assembly? (this may have changed now as Im out of the loop all things educational)
Saying that, I dont suppose its wise to choose a University on financial terms if the course/facilities aren't up to scratch.
I did see a performance by the graduating jazz students from the welsh college of music and drama few years back conducted and written by Keith Tippett which was fantastic -
Ive got a MIM jazz from 2000 as well. the only mods Ive done is stuck in some SD Basslines pups. Im happy with them but I'd love to try one with some wizards in it just to compare. Ive never had a problem with the bridge so I couldnt possibly comment on replacing it and Im really happy with the tuners.

I have an autographed Elvis album,
not by elvis but my mate Dave.
I have a polyphonic spree gown and all their autographs nicely framed.
a feat considering there's so many of em
and a signed Daniel Johnston print which is pretty cool- not to everyones tastes but hey there ya go
here's an example of the kind of stuff he does
Oh yeah and various doctor who bits and bobs from the last few years as a result of working on it -
I dont do it with bass although I will occasionally make a monkey face when concentrating. Whenever Ive had a go of a wah wah with a guitar I always make wah wah shapes and noises with my mouth?
-
my jazz bass has the same knobs, bought it new in 2000
-
tis a sad tale of events and it'll be awful if cardiff loses yet another venue.
Great venue even if I have been to only two gigs there since its opened. (efterklang the other week and King Creosote in may). Both were fantastic!
Fingers crossed I'll get to see Mabon there next week as well. -
I had a similar noise coming out of bass once- turns out it was because I had my mobile phone in my pocket
