1. sorry if this has been asked before but whats the deal with the little routed round hole on my Fender Jazz under the pick guard?
its about the size of a 10p and about a centimetre deep
I bought it in 2000.
Is it something to do with an active version of the bass? (mine is just a standard passive red wine Jazz)
I'll take a photo of it if its an anomaly but methinks its probably quite common on this model?

thanks

Stu

2.
Remember over here a new MIM costs 750 and a MIA costs 1450 just about
sheesh quite expensive!
I bought my mex Jazz bass in 2000 in Cardiff for £340 so there's inflation for ya!
Im not sure what the prices are like now but a few years ago when I lived in west wales I managed to get a foot passenger ferry and rail return from carmarthen to Rosslare (including a bus to Wexford) for 13 pounds! if it was still that kind of price I'd say come over and get one. (I doubt thats much of an easy option though!)

3. It seems a bit pricey to me considering its missing tuners and electrics. I'd say you're looking at roughly an extra 30-40 pounds maybe a bit less for those bits plus then consider you may want to change the pups.
body doesnt look in particularly good nick either...
I'd reccomend doing a search around the for sale section for past mexican Fenders that have been sold recently for a good idea. perhaps put a post in the wanted area?
I vaguely remember seeing a working one that was a little tatty cosmetically go for around the 200 pound mark.

I have the same colour and looking at it, roughly same age mex jazz. I changed the electronics and love it.
I'd say buy one thats complete and usable now and then start tinkering with it.

4. Anyone else seen this? (apologies if its been posted before)

its in pretty rough condition- I'd love one but I dont think I'd like to touch this one though
(I wish epiphone would reissue their rivolis again!)

5. Its got to be worth more than £350 although I'd agree it does depend on how quick you want to sell it.
Ive seen them online from around £520 upwards. Ive seen one in a local shop a few pounds shy of 600 quid.
if its mint and you have an invoice with the setup work thats been done , surely its worth a punt offering it for near that price and see what happens. People can only haggle it down then.

6. I'd love an EB2 or epiphone/ tokai/ jap equivalent.
There's something so cool about them...
I couldn't justify buying an old one but I wish epiphone would bring out some budget versions-
any suggestions much appreciated!

7. hey guys,
Ive decided I need to get rid of this. tried selling last year but didnt try hard enough.
SWR 350 head (pre Fender, the model after the red one). NEW PICS AT BOTTOM (CAPS LOCK MADNESS! ARGGH!)
Ive owned it 3 years. it needed a good service but now in good condition (thanks to Nobles, Cardiff). Ive kept it in a rackmounted flight case. a bit of the front paint has come off the face but not major (pictures to be taken to show this- SEE AT BOTTOM- I SHALL TAKE BETTER PICTURES IF REQUESTED!)
In total, its played around 10 gigs since its been serviced as Ive not been doing anything major thats needed me to take it places.
Hows about £220? (with flight case, can be sold without)
REDUCED TO £200 WITH FLIGHT CASE
Im happy to look into the idea of posting this.
Due to imminent move Im not able to consider trades for this!

CAB IS SOLD
SWR Triad 1 Cab. one of the early ones thats in good working order. a little bit rough around the edges due to being through a few gigs/attacked by my old cat (its got that fuzzy lining on it).

I have one picture of the rig so far which I will upload but will take more pics.

CAB IS NOW SOLD!!!!
head is sold.
all sold for 350

Will sell as a complete rig for £400 but happy to split.

8. I have no experience with instruments but I have experience with camera equipment. We took roughly 300 grands worth of equipment and put it all through as luggage. didnt lock any of it but used cable ties.
It all went swimmingly however, one of the crew managed to pick up an 80 grand lens from some other company...(apparrently it was on its way to a Madonna video shoot)
I'll point out that all the kit was in peli cases with custom cut foam. they are virtually indestructible.
If I ever need to take a guitar abroad, Im getting a peli case!

9. Well here's my rig.

Swr 350 (mk2?) and I think its a Triad 1.

Would ya believe Ive not gigged with it in over two years (and it got serviced just before its last outing doh!)
It was such a blast playing it live and I love the triad 3 way speaker setup
Its currently used as a key stand in my old flat. Such a shame Im not gigging for the forseeable.(Coming to a for sale site near you!)

10. Hi guys,
for sale one Ibanez SB 7 bass synth pedal.
A bit of fun, I bought it from someone on the old bassworld pedal. (cant remember who)
Ive used it only a handful times in my bedroom and no problems to report.
Its great fun but no use for me as Im currently without band
I can post pics (see below)

TAKEN FROM IBANEZ SITE
If you're looking for new tones or you're still smoldering with resentment against synth bass keyboard players who took our gigs in the 80's, the SB7 is the ticket. You've got real time feel'in other words no annoying tracking errors and delays. You can even play chords. Then there's a funky auto-wah (think "Theme from Shaft"), an 80's style synth bass sound (now it's our turn to take THEIR gigs), and a deep and heavy synth bass. And although we know it's oh-so-very-crass to talk price when we're talking art, before you shell out your hard earned bucks on a bass synth effect, check the price of ours vs. "the other guy's." H'mmm.

Yours for £30 inc postage
If you want to pick it up/ test it, Im in Cardiff

SOLD!!!
