1. So I have my finished rig (apart from a bass driver DI but I’ve run out for money for now!) Fender American P-Bass, 2 Markbass cabs, Ampeg SVT III pro. It sounds pretty damn gorgeous when it’s on its own. The issue is when I’m playing with the rest of the band, anything played low down sounds awesome (we play in drop C# so only a semitone below drop D), but as soon as I move up onto the A string and up the fret board I lose all the bass and it doesn’t cut through. I’ve tried a different cabs (2 massive trace’s last night) and I’ve tried knocking the EQ off the ampeg and still have the same issue. The bass is pretty light for a P-Bass. I had a look at the pickups and the pickup does seem to be quite low on the E-string end. I was thinking perhaps a compressor might help so i could boost the overall volume but keeping the low end at its current volume, but when you listen to the bass on it’s own it seems to keep the same volume through out and I love the tone. Have you got any ideas what I could try?

3. What would be nice is to have the option of both just to stagger the funding of it but i can imagine wired wouldnt work with it being quite a mobile band on stage.
4. Hi guys, doing a bit of research on in ear systems. What I want is to be able to find a relatively affordable system that can comprise of in ear monitors for my band, perhaps premixed via a passive mixer that we can just send a feed from to the sound desk in whatever venue we turn up at. What are the options out there?
5. Ok so I'm pretty new to bass but have a kickass rig - Markbass 1x15, 4x10, ampeg SVT III pro, fender 50th anniversary P-Bass... I play in a classic rock band playing in Drop C#. My rig sounds wicked and fat on the E string (refering to standard tuning for ease) right up the fret board but as I move on to the A string and beyond the 7th fret I loose loads of bass and volume. The pickup configuration looks ok (as far as I can tell as a guitarist normally). How can I compensate for this? Grateful for any tips
6. Hi mate, can I give you £400 for the 104hf only? Just bought a 15" and shouldn't really be buying anything else!
7.
Many many bassists are very happy with the sound they get from mixing 10s and 15s. However, if you are buying new, you may as well go with the orthodox view that same size drivers are best. A 410 and a 210 will give you great flexibility between a 210,410 and a 610 for all size venues and car boots.
Wish I'd got the 2x10 now
8. Its interesting that on the markbass site it says "This cabinet was redesigned in Spring 2007, and now stacks perfectly with all Standard series cabinets." If it's a bad idea, why redesign it?
9. Also I'll be going through a sansamp into the PA at all my shows...
10.
Putting out the full 500 watts, you`ll get 250 to each cab. So whichever cab you get, so long as it handles 250 watts you get you should be fine - prob best to not use it on it`s own though, think the 3PRO knocks out about 350ish at 8 ohms..
Ah I only have this.
11. I have to get a small cab as I have a tiny back seat where the seats don't go down (bettle cabriolet). I also have to fit in the bass and ampeg and sometimes a girl.
12. So the Mark bass is as below IMPEDANCE 8 ohms SPEAKER SIZE 1x15 in. TWEETER piezo BASS PORT rear POWER HANDLING 400W RMS (AES Standard) CROSSOVER FREQUENCY 3.5 kHz FREQUENCY RESPONSE 40 Hz to 18 kHz SENSITIVITY 100 dB SPL WEIGHT 44.75 lbs / 20.3 kg HEIGHT 18.3 in. / 46.4 cm WIDTH 23.39 in. / 59.4 cm DEPTH 17.05 in. / 43.3 cm The Ampeg is rated at 500W. What do I need to get in terms of specs for a suitable pairing? Another 8ohm, but what power handling?
13. Haha hush Jim. I just want to hear other people's opinions :op
14. Hi All I'm geting a Markbass Traveller 1x15 and being a dumb guitarist clueless with bass I have been told I am being naive thinking for bigger shows I can pair it with Markbass 4x10 (even though on the markbass site it says its been redesigned so it stacks with the standard cabs). Is there anything other than another matching cab I can pair it up with? Perhaps a 2x10 102P? What's best? Hope you can help ps, it's being fed by an ampeg SVT III Pro
