8. Hi guys Much help needed here. I'm in the middle of a studio session for an album for my band New Device. I took 6 fnders in to the studio - 4P and 2J (not all mine but a couple borrowed) and none of them settled in time to using a super heavy string gauge (starting at 130 on a 4 string) even after being set up. Anyway, that issue isn't the issue now, we had a bass that had already been set up to drop C which was a ESP Ltd B-104 (can't believe I've used a £250 bass on this album) hanging around the studio. This bass actually had a really consistent tone but being an ESP was much more modern sounding and didn't have the soul that comes with the fender tone. Now all the guitars are going to be reamped but the bass will just be using software to be modelled with an SVT tone. Is there anyway the studio will be able to make the core tone sound more fendery at all?
9. I had an ad up looking for a road worn sunburst or butterscotch P. got 2x butterscotch ones but one is going back on sale on here. Would love a road worn P but think I might save for a relic
10.
Who's paying for the recording/engineer/producer?
The label are mate Thanks for all your help guys, I'm going to put my trust in these guys and I'll let you know how it goes down!
11. Hey guys! I'm at the start of a 6 week recording with my bass parts going down next week. I'm a p-bass man through and through but the engineers and producer don't really like it. They want me to record half the album on a jazz bass and only use the p-bass on the heavier tracks. In some instances a different bass on the chorus to verse!? What are people's thoughts on this? I always thought a bass along with the drums should stay constant throughout to help define an albums sound?
12. Wicked cheers, to be fair although i did have a play with the EQ turned off, I actually didnt play with the rest of the band. Cant wait for rehearsal now then!
13. Thought it might help to share my current EQ settings
14. Ah cool, I'll try that and see if it helps
15. Ok this is the first time I've tried to upload an image on here, hope it works. Does anything look amiss here? I basically just got to a sound which I really liked but perhaps I need to compensate the tone somewhere on diff frequencies? [sharedmedia=core:attachments:100988]
