I have the same rig. Love it. I add another 2x10 for big gigs, but it isnt necessary. Great weight, great tone, great volume. Enjoy.

Agreed, I find really stretching the calves / hamstrings (touching toes) helps free up the tightness. Most of my pain comes when I'm tight and havent done any stretching or exercise.

I thought there would only be a few truly unique ones (precision, jazz, stingray) and more keep popping up I've thought of another - McCartney violin bass.

Afternoon all, I'm trying to thin the bass collection at the moment, so I have had an idea..... rather than keep a couple of precisions, jazzes etc which i like, I thought I'd try and settle / look for one of each of the main types of bass guitar - the groundbreaking ones. Trouble is I keep changing my mind over what the main innovations are. So far I have thought of: Precision Jazz Stingray (not got one yet) Headless (hohner b2a) What others have I missed? Or what would be in your 'one of each' collection. I'm not talking basses that are slightly different from the above, but really different in their own right, whether it be hardware, sound, looks etc.

I found wearing the bass much lower (cooler) really helped. When I swapped straps back to a normal height the pain came back. Agreed on core strength. That's the best thing. I was told my back was doing all the normal work and all the work of the stomach muscles, hence pain. Building up the core means each set front and back is more likely to do what it's supposed to do instead of over compensating.

Sansamp bass driver. Very difficult to get a bad sound out of it. Simple to use.

Ive just moved back to markbass from barefaced. I use the traveller 210s, previously used barefaced 210s, compact and super 12. Just my experience and opinion, but the markbass is much more full and warm, and seems much louder / efficient. I run a sansamp with a mkiii or big bang and it makes both the amp and cab come alive.

Hi all, After (for the hundredth time) re organised my gear, I'm set on a smallish board which I can plug into any amp head, whether mine, hired or provided backline or in ears. It's a sansamp bass driver v2 and a boss 50 wireless. Now, what I need to complete are the following - all must be a similar size or smaller than a sansamp: 1. A tuner. (I'm fed up of losing clip ons). 2. A simple compressor (one knob if possible) just to balance the strings / keep everything the same volume. When pricing things up it soon comes to around £150+ upto £200. So it brings it close to something like a helix, which does the above and more. However, the helix's power supply drives me mad. Too large, cant swap with a regular 9v spare, and it doesnt (really) work with power packs. So.... is there anything out there that has true bypass, quality, and a compressor and tuner? And will run on either daisy chain or a power pack for under the board?

You make them both sound excellent! I cant believe how much that yamaha sounds like a p bass. Great stuff.

Well.... that's really weird - stumbled across this bloke last night completely by accident on youtube and spent hours watching his vids. Ended up getting hardly any sleep. Get up this morning and theres a thread on him. Usually I hate vids like this, but I loved it. The way he gets the same kicks out of chord progressions as a normal fan would over guitar solos etc - brilliant! I love the Iron Maiden - Prophet video! Completely blows his mind! I love how rock in particular just does what it wants to. -
It's probably mine. It's available on here in the amps for sale section cheaper as well. Excellent amp, superb condition.

Managed to find an unopened pack of daddrio exp 170 which I must have got in a trade some time. Theyve really brightened up the bass alongside my sansamp. Sounds great so far. If I dont get on with them, I'll try some of the suggestions on here. Thanks.

Great cabs. Love mine. Lightweight, easy to carry, tweeter adjustable, and very loud. Can be stacked vertical or horizontal. Replaced every cab I've tried. Perfect all round solution imo. I use one for practice and stack 2 for big gigs.

It's probably been asked a million times, but I've got a jazz (flea relic) and it came with dead roundwounds. Now, being on a jazz they weren't really working like they would on a precision, so I was wondering what you all use on your jazzed and for what style of music. Precision is pretty easy - roundwounds or flats - but jazzes?

Is Jeff berlin a brilliant salesman, or is the cort rithimic a great bass?

Somebody has a dean on ebay. -

Not sure if this should be in amps or effects, so I've listed in both, however, if you're looking, you know what these are - the superb preamp front end from the ampeg svt2. Recently serviced by Barry at Gee electronics. Sounds superb. Link to any amp to get that ampeg sound without that ampeg weight! Pick up Leyland Lancashire
