Picked this up a few weeks ago whilst over in California. I was previously a great fan of the EBS multicomp before selling it to use the compressor on my eden wt600 and then eventually compressor free using my trickfish rig. I was sold on it by Janek Gwizdalas little demo on youtube and also the few Miura demo videos with a few other well known bass players, just sounded what I was after from a compressor and decided it was worth taking advantage of my time in the states. I had considered the FEA labs Opti-fet but it just seemed that I would disappear down a compression rabbit hole trying to find the right setting! AFAIK Miura is Xotic but under a different new name, I think the guy had sold xotic and started Miura, which would explain the artists using his gear! It really is an incredible compressor. So far I've found it very natural and warm sounding even at high ratio/fast attack settings without doing that overly squashed tone that I've experience on many previous compressors and remaining noise free. On subtle "normal" settings I would say the compression is very transparent as in you can't really hear the squash of the notes but at the same time it really does open up your bass tone adding warmth and clarity to the higher notes whilst evening everything out naturally. It's quite strange because you put it on and you think "it's not really doing much' and then you turn it off and you suddenly notice a huge difference between your bass with and without the m2 I have no idea if it's a VCA or optical compressor or whatever, but it does remind me a lot of a buzz optical compressor that was in the studio I once worked at. Just thought I'd share my thoughts on it if anyone is looking for a new compressor or thinking about buying one

For sale is my Universal Audio Apollo Quad interface including the Analogue Classics Bundle as well as £1500 of UAD plugins. List of all plugins below. This interface has amazing quality converters and the amazing unison preamps that enable you to use the plugins like the API vision channel strip as a preamp. The unit is fitted with the thunderbolt card as well as being FireWire. I have not used the thunderbolt card as I run a PC and have been happy with the FireWire 800 connection. The unit is in excellent condition and has been used in a smoke free studio. The headphone volume pots have a bit of noise when turning them but believe that they just require a clean - they are perfectly functional tho. Comes boxed, including all documentation and power supply/FireWire cable. Plugins included in sale are: Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection Api Vision Channel strip Pultec Passive EQ Collection Millenia NSEQ-2 Teletronix LA-2A Leveller Collection Dbx 160 SPL Transient Designer Helios 69 Neve 33609 Analogue bundle: UA 610-B UA 1176LN Legacy UA 1176SE Legacy Pultec EQP-1A Legacy Pultec Pro Legacy Teletronix LA-2A Legacy Fairchild 670 Legacy Precision Enhancer HZ Raw Distortion Softube Amp Room Half Stack Softube Bass Amp Room 8x10 Precision channel strip Precision Reflection engine Precision delay mod Precision delay mod l Realverb Pro The device will be transferred including all plugins to the new owner on payment. Had this for sale before as needing repair to the switch. Have since repaired the pedal with a genuine Taiwan blue switch. This is an older version of the pedal (2011?!) handwired by doug himself and it sounds killer!! Just not my thing anymore and with a new kitchen on the horizon I need to shift some gear! Please message me for pictures! £130 delivered

Yep pretty much as cuzzie says! I'm using one trickfish 210v cab and no volume problem at all - usually running the head at a little over half way on the volume control -

Ampeg, Orange would sound great. Make sure whatever you get that you can defeat the tweeter on it as it can get a bit harsh and unpleasant especially when the amp starts to break up... I found sealed tweeterless cabs sounded better and more solid

Also it wasn't like I had gone through amps for fun, I used ampeg stuff for a number of years and then switched to orange for 6 years and then went to Eden but weight over tone was the reason I started to search again. I had ashdown and hartke rigs before using ampeg and had a EA micro for dep and local gigs... Everything else I used as rented back line at some point when what I wanted wasn't available! -

Haha -yeah I can appreciate that it might seem like a huge leap of faith to make without trying it out first and yeah there's was a leap of faith sure... But it was calculated and made after a lot of research and speaking to both Paul at bassmatters and Richard at trickfish. I've played professionally/toured since I was 19 and have a lot of experience With many of these amp companies - so I knew what worked and didn't work for me, either from previously owning a certain amp or from having to use one as part of a rented back line. The need for something lightweight narrowed my search and nothing was really grabbibg me. The genzler gear looked great but didn't want all those features and for a while the EBS Reidmar was looking viable as I liked the 350/550 sound but wasn't overly excited about them. I liked the simplicity of my old orange ad200 - then I discovered the trickfish and it just felt right! Just does everything that I want very very well! Also I got bored yesterday and compared it to my Eden WTP600 and the trickfish just had so much more depth and weight to each note. Wheb I use the amp I don't have to think about it or feel the need to tweak any controls and I can just concentrate on playing. I don't feel like anything is a compromise with this setup. -

Hey Al Know. Well I absolutely still love it. It just sounds good, warm and clear, incredibly loud and the simplicity of the amp is a god send! I don't miss any features like shape/enhance controls, built in compressors, overdrive circuits - when I get to a gig now I can get an amazing tone very quickly and easily without constantly adjusting something. I don't feel the need to use additional preamp/di pedals infront of it like I did with pretty much every amp I ever had apart from my orange ad200 ( I used a Darkglass b3k to sharpen it up a bit). I went to in ear monitors recently - after using a sansamp for a few gigs I figured out I could split the DI signal out post EQ and I now have the most enjoyable experience of playing live I've ever had in terms of hearing every nuance of my bass and playing. The thing I have to mention is that the DI out is incredible - best I have ever heard especially post EQ... The fact that I run it into my in ears and it's an enjoyable tone direct says a lot. Also you can mail the guys at trickfish even on a Sunday afternoon and you'll get a response!! They have great customer service.
