2. Hi guys, I'm looking to have a 3 band eq installed in my spector euro 4lx to replace the 2 band tonepump. I'm looking at the EMG BQC, Aguilar OBP-3 and the Glockenklang preamps. Does anyone know if any of these will drop right into the existing cavity? I'm not keen on cuts/mods being made the body and as I'd be purchasing the preamp blind from Bass direct I won't know until it arrives. Any experience/help is much appreciated. Many thanks Freddie
3. Really appreciate the replies guys, I'm steering towards an onboard preamp change to the Aguilar OBP 3.
4.
Don't forget that despite what you might have read, the Tone Pump pre-amp is not gain only. If by having it flat you mean that both bass and treble controls are at their minimum, then you will actually be attenuating the higher frequencies and thereby reducing its ability to "cut through".
Thanks for the response. By Flat I read somewhere that it's a 3rd way up on the bass and a little less on the treble (Or other way round lol), either way it doesn't cut through anywhere near as nice as my jazz does.
5. Hi guys, I have a lovely Spector Euro 4lx running through Genz Streamliner 900 into TC Electronics RS212. With my Fender Jazz Deluxe bass - it sounds great. However I find it hard trying to cut through with the Spector. I have the bass set flat, but even with he streamliner bass tuner down, it still sounds muddy to my ear. I have a EWS mid control pedal but that doesn't seem to be doing a great deal even after trying various settings. I have the pedal running on a 9volt supply. I love the way the Spector plays and feels so I really want to percevere here. I'm guessing that my options are as follows: 1) Get an 18volt power supply for the EWS pedal - but will this help? 2) Get the tonepump preamp replaced with an Aguilar OBP 3 preamp in the bass itself 3) Purchase a preamp pedal ie tonehammer. Obviously if I can help it, I don't want to throw money at something if it's going to be a gamble of the outcome. Has anyone else been in this situation with this bass? Any help is really appreciated! I love my set up so I want to work with the amp and cab I have. Much appreciated Freddie

7. Thanks Bill, I'm leaning more in that direction. Much appreciated Freddie
8. Thanks guys! I really like the look/sound of the Faital 12FH520. Does anyone know or where could I find out if that specific driver would work inside of the box dimensions of the rs112?

10. Kurt had a huge impact on me too, so much so I had a Tattoo of him on my shoulder when I was 18 (23 years ago). Unfortunately the Tattoo was sh*t, and I ended up on the TV show #Tattoo Fixers# getting it covered up lol.

12. I haven't used one, but as far as TC Electronics go you can't beat the RS cabs.
13. TC RS212 for me. After owning Barefaced, Bergs, Aguilar, Genz Neox etc etc, I've found my tonal heaven with a Genz Streamliner 900 and an RS212. Half the price of some of the other cabs I've owned.

16. Thanks Warwickhunt - any other opinions on this? Will it give me much more volume? Thanks
17. Well, I've owned a fair few cabs myself - striving for "the sound" in my head. I've had the berg cn212, ae212, Genz neox 212, barefaced big twin 2 (gen 3). All great cabs, however, I am now using a TC Electronics RS212 and with the rest of my set up (Genz Benz streamliner 900 amp & fender jazz active bass) I'd go as far to say that it's the best single cab I've owned. Smaller footprint, deep, punchy, sweet highs. I've played outdoor festivals and large venues with this thing - and you can pick them up 2nd hand for £300/£350.
