1. Hi Spencer, and welcome. You're too young by a long shot to die even the happiest man on Earth. Keep up the good work!
2. Hello, hungry one and welcome to Basschat! Plenty of lefties here, and some of us even play lefty instruments! Get stuck in...
3. Billyapple, i missed you by a whisker a couple of times this afternoon! Freddy, I remember the website mentioning that masterclass but it disappeared soon after, and doesn't appear in the show literature at all. Are we sure we didn't read last year's lineup, which they left on the website for far too long? I can't remember now.
4. Back home! I met Shelley (seashell) early on in the day, then spent most of the time flitting from one masterclass or gig to another. We were unable to identify most of you guys who were there, though, and hoped you would recognise us. Rumple, you should have said hi! And seashell was with me while I was talking to Jason of Rotosound.
5. Get well soon, Lozz - don't risk your health for the show if you don't feel OK. I do hope a good night's sleep will rid you of your ailments and allow you to join us.
6. If any drummers are reading, is my cheque in the post??
7. I don't find dr****rs offensive - after all, we have to aim to become one with them, musically speaking, don't we? And some dr****rs are - or at least used to be at the beginning - the driving force behind their bands; take for instance Lars Ulrich of Metallica.
8. Welcome David! Love the idea of "g****r" as a swearword and will now torment my g****rist friends with it
9. Weird. Not had that problem on my HB, despite its undeniable cheapness... I would probably sand the neck very lightly with the least abrasive sandpaper you can find. But hopefully one of the experts on here will be able to suggest a better solution.
10. Hi, blitz, and welcome! You mention GAS... you've come to the right place. Just have a look around - but lock your credit cards in a secure place first
11. Unless you live around 20 minutes by bus from the venue and could, in theory, even walk home from there (I've done that before, in fact)... I'm among the lucky ones in this case. On the other hand, I'm in trouble when music events like this are held at Excel, on the opposite side of town - it takes me 2 hours to get there and 2 more to get home, and that's without leaving London...
12. Parking in the whole of London is either near-impossible or daylight robbery, I'm afraid. Hope someone here has some good advice for you (I don't drive so I can't offer any help, unfortunately).
13. Yup, we'll be on the mobile and find each other - and the guys - before lunchtime!
14. Excellent post, Henry - you beat me to it. Olympia is quite near Hammersmith and Earl's Court stations, and a bus from either can do the trick if the tube fails to deliver.
15. LOL, but he's the main topic of only around a quarter of this thread, despite it having his name in the title!
16. Well, I guess a bluejay can still go "cheep cheep" with no particular reason, then ...
17. Cheep Cheep! Looking forward to wandering randomly and bumping into you all!
18. You didn't mislead us - your original link took to the Amazon entry for the book and the price was stated clearly. I mean, it's not like it's very expensive...
19. Heh. Aunt Wikipedia says:
The name of the song comes from a street located high in the Hollywood Hills overlooking Sunset Boulevard where George Harrison rented a house at 1567 Blue Jay Way during August 1967.
Nothing to do with birds or double entendres
20. We don't need publish the venue for the after-show meetup on here - the guys at the stands will know where it is and tell us if we ask nicely
21. If the notation is set as a graphic, as opposed to treated like text, you might not be able to enlarge it without losing crispness.
22.
Well I'm sure if you missed the experience there would be a queue of people willing to swap MSN details to give you the full experience
Bless. No thanks - speaking for myself, I was delighted with the nice, grown-up welcome I received back in November.
