That looks very similar to the ones I bought directly from Van Damme (I'm sure it was the same Cat5 cable). They were fine for about 6 months use, and then become less and less able to coil neatly before finally failing. Are yours still properly coilable?

Yup they're solid. I always coil them properly after use and they've been good got years.

For those of you using Ultranet, where are you getting your gig-proof properly coilable Cat5 cables from?

In the days when I was running a BassPod and Floorboard which are connected by Cat5 I was getting through a cable every other month. I ended up buying a couple of very expensive Van Damme Cat5 leads which were a lot more robust, but even they were never as easy to coil up as a standard mic lead and eventually after a couple of years these failed as well.

I've had this one a few years. Extremely high quality. Infact most of my cables are from Designacable

Marshall... might have sections of the fake wall for hire... from the looks they are about 6" thick but full height stacks!

Tried Marshall but they won't hire to me unfortunately

Very cool indeed. Another spooky coincidence is that I also used to have a Streamer (S1 though) and decided to move it on. I think I just need to accept my fate and order an Overwater 😬

You won't be disappointed. I'd never played one but took a punt... Certainly paid off.

Now you've had it for a week and she's settled in how's it sounding? Seriously tempted to get something similar, did I mention already that I love the look of this spec? 😜

Yes very nice. The Uni Pre is very cool and versatile with the mid sweep. Really like the reverse P + Soapbar combo. Reminds be of a PJ but with extra punch.

The sets ups on the overwaters are incredible. I've never picked up a bass that's been remotely close. As soon as my first Overwater arrived I had my Warwick SSII up on marketplace the day after 😅

  7. My 2nd Overwater J5 Contemporary.

I went for something different this time as oppose to standard j pups. Reverse P and Soapbar combo with a John East Uni Pre, Birdseye maple fretboard, 35 scale.

I've only played through headphones so far but will be taking for a test run at tomorrow's gig.

I wasn't sure about the colour but wanted something a bit more vibrant than my black/grey burst.

Thanks EBS. So, would a specialist hearing place be more likely to take a better impression then? I'm just thinking that I'd hate to shell out for a pair of UE6's and they don't fit as well as they should?

I went 3 times to an audiologist for my UE6s and every time they were rejected as they weren't quite right. I ended up biting the bullet and driving to IEM Company in Hertfordshire to get them sorted. Perfect fit from the start.
