  1. Hi everyone, I recently bought these off FB MP, as I thought I'd lost my original set...however I've now found the originals so these are surplus. They suit the Little Mark series and a few others. Standard however a hole has been drilled in one to allow cable to exit. Sorry no fixing bolts, just the ears. £10 posted https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Markbass-Rack-Mount-Little-Mark-III-LMK-/art-BAS0003572-000?campaign=GShopping/GB&ProgramUUID=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&campaign=GShopping/UK&ProgramUUID=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI69WovPS9gQMVxYpQBh3ADQB2EAQYAyABEgItnvD_BwE Thanks Neil
  2. My Evri horror story involves a bass being delivered to me in the communal wheely bin area which we shared with several local houses. Luckily I was the first one home and managed to quickly decipher and accurately decode the god awful handwriting on the delivery card ...it said something like " IN BIN" .. actually I wish I'd have kept the note for comedy value. 🫣
  3. Very well Engineered Palmer "Ubertreiber" bass overdrive / distortion Good working order and conditon= I believe this is now discontinued. The overall colour is a bit more orange than my rubbish photos (see last stock photo) Sounds good from mild overdrive to heavier distortion. Clean blend is very useful to retain low end. Has typical controls and PAD and 9V battery socket I bought this new (boxed) but cut off the excessive fixing holed base plate (see yellow X ) to reduce the footprint of this pedal on my board. Thanks Neil https://blog.adamhall.com/en/2014/02/08/palmer-ubertreiber-testbericht-von-bass-professor-magazine/
  4. I Picked up a 90s Korean made ATK300 recently on marketplace, always liked Kyuss bassist Scott Reader who used them in the 90s. Really impressed with this instrument and build quality. It needed a real good clean, new battery and strings and now it’s sounding and feeling very good. Massive bridge with through body stringing and a satin feel wide neck. It also came with a decent Levys orginal gigbag. Pickup, electronics/EQ and three way switching seem very versatile, I wonder if any other manufactures apart from Ibanez do this method with the dummy centre coil? I have a Stingray and P bass to compare and the Trad (single coil) and Attack (Humbucker) come pretty close to these with the versality of being on a single bass. As widely mentioned, these are heavy, but with a wide strap this doesn’t bother me much (so far) . If you see one of these in the used market I’d really give them a go, you may be surprised...if you can take the weight. Neil
  5. Hi ,Is the bass something like the Harley Benton MB-5 SB Deluxe Series? As mentioned the passive electronics whilst not the best quality, may have little impact on the tone. I had a OLP passive (Vol/VolTone) Stingray copy years ago, only really came to life when I fitted a SR type active preamp (even with the original pickup) . Many consider the classic Stingray tone a combination of the large pole pickup (and placement) and the active preamp. If you need any advice on this I can help with some cheap options to try out. Would be interesting to see what kind of pickup is in the HB (possibly ceramic?) and measure the impedance of it. Lots of options for updating the pickup, depending on your budget ..... but trying a cheap active preamp may improve the tone FYI, your passive wiring will be something like this if it's Vol/Vol/ Tone
  6. DemonFX copy of a well known Microtubes X overdrive. Brand new& boxed, great pedal just not for me-only bought it to try out and compare to my vintage microtubes Has controls for Level, Drive, Mix (low /high pass) plus Mids -also small pots for low pass and high pass frequencies. Not sure how it compares to the original, but sound pretty good and flexible to me. 9V PSU only (no battery option)
  7. Hughes & Kettner Quantum QS 210 2x10” Bass cab Fitted with two brand new USA Made Eminence 10” 200W 8 Ohm bass speakers (wired in parallel) Solid and well braced ply cabinet, top and bottom shelf ported. Good condition, really well made cab, Vinyl covering and tough steel grill. Sounds great, will work fine as a standalone cab for most gigs. 400W 4 Ohms 2x rear speakON connectors 670 H x 415 W x 405 D around 24Kg Collection Brixham Devon, however please ask about meetup as I'm on the road lots with work, M5 Devon to Birmingham , M1 Birmingham to Milton Keynes Thanks Neil
  8. Some items from the spares I probably won’t use :- x2 6m speaker twist (speakON) to 1/4" jack , these are new and unused, probably at least 1.5mm2, cable is marked LIVE WIRE FLEXIBLE MULTIWIRE LOUDSPEAKER CABLE 6x misc unbranded 4 pole speaker twist (equivalent to NL4 speakON type) . 2 have orange strain collars. Was thinking £15 delivered. Thanks Neil
  9. Hi everyone, This one has been lurking at the back of the shed for a while and I forgot about it. Came from a quality 2x10" 450W neo bass cab, the other speaker was used elsewhere for a project. Looks like a proprietary Eminence driver (has the logo) and part number 45109-5 (whatever model that is?) I don't know the history of this speaker , but seems to work fine I just tried it in cab, bit rusty on rear, seems to have a secondary cone too? 8 Ohms, original 2x10" cab was labelled 450W, so suggesting this circa 225W handling. Ideal for a cheap (and light) Neo cab etc Price includes postage. Thanks Neil
  10. Peavey TNT 160 Amp removed from a crazy heavy 1x15” combo. I had this a while but have no real use for it now. Good working condition (very good and clean internally) has a rear mounted 1/4” jack speaker output added. Tried it earlier and it sound surprisingly good + very loud, has useful eq and controls, plus an inbuilt chorus effect. Made in UK, 160W output into 4 Ohms Will need some kind of headsleeve/ outer case making up (in metal or wood) to make safe and durable. Come with cage nut fixings/bolts and stick on control panel label. Quite light (only the transformer is heavy) Price includes postage to anywhere in UK Thanks Neil
  11. Was a Peavey TNT 115S combo, but amp has been removed and now a standalone 1x15" cab with rear 1/4 " jack input. Fitted with an Eminence 200W 8 Ohm speaker from Eden cab 65cm High x 65cm Wide x 36cm Deep, feels around 30Kg, maybe less Cab is heavy and tatty, but is solid and works fine, really need the space in the shed, ideal for a leave at practice room kinda cab etc. Lots of drop-off / meet up option as I'm on the road loads with work 😞 Exeter/Bristol/Birmingham/Milton Keynes (mostly M5 and M1) Cheers Neil
  12. Yes, its a fairly decent sounding cab but I've only tried it at low practice volumes . I wasn't sure if the Celestion were stock, but it appears so. I've always liked SWR equipment, great quality kit.
  13. Many thanks for the reply @Bill Fitzmaurice Yes I couldn't find much info either on these speakers, I will mail Celestion for specs. I've seen these speakers being advertised as guitar speakers as they have lots of headroom. Maybe these have more appeal to guitarists, dunno - will get the spec and see what you guys recommend. Neil
  14. Hi everyone, I was planning to build my own 2x12” cab as I have load of ply, but this came up locally and is much better than I could build plus I have no spare time right now. It a SWR workingman 2x12” + horn, the baffle board, base and sides are ¾” ply and the back and top are particle board, so it’s not the lightest, however it’s on castors and easier to move than my Mark bass 4x10” due to compact size. I’ve disconnected the horn and made up a jack/speakon rear panel to replace the jack and horn switch. It's loaded with 2 Celestion K12T-200 (and the horn) I don’t know these speakers? They are labelled custom for SWR it actually sounds fine, but I’m thinking probably lighter and more efficient/ higher power handing modern speakers would improve this cab, any recommendations? I guess the cab needs modelling in WinISD and speaker options considered. Cab internally is= 42cm H x 55cm W x 54cm H 127Litres External = 46cm H x 58cm W c 58cm H It has x2 ports 65mm, 100mm diameter. Thanks Neil
  15. Great thanks . I'm assuming the mk2 is 600W and mk1 is 500W plus different knobs? I'm thinking of a buyjng a new one as my experience of class D of late has been problematic, several amps have died and are beyond economic repair failures. Peavey stuff is historically fairly bulletproof
  16. Hi everyone, Does anyone have an experiences of the Peavey minimax 600? I’m looking for a reasonably priced class D to replace my failed MB amp. Reviews seem decent my only concern is mid eq control. I generally like low mid and high mid eq control, these seem to have “mid shift” with single “mid” control, not sure about the centre frequency range. https://peavey.com/minimax-600-watt-mini-bass-amp-head/p/03617920 https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/bass-guitar-amp-head/peavey-minimax-600-bass-amp-head?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI24ndq5Xx-wIVAt7tCh13-QmPEAQYAiABEgI43fD_BwE Thanks Neil
  17. This is 48cm wide x 30cm deep (including the power transistors heatsink ) x 7.5cm high .
  18. Hi everyone, Eden Nemesis N15S amp only SPARES OR REPAIR Amp removed from NS15S combo, I'm keeping the cab and speaker for another project. No audio from speaker output and squeals loudly, possibly the output MOSFETs have failed, but I have no time to investigate and diagnose. Preamp (headphone out) is fine and actually sounds quite good, has inbuilt switchable compressor and Aux input. 170W at 4 Ohms / 120W at 8 Ohms (original combo cab was 8 Ohms) Reasonable condition, please see pictures. Good project or source of spares FREE POSTAGE Please ask any questions Thanks Neil
  19. @JPJ did you make any progress on your 2x12" build? I'm keen to build one of these myself and have a load of suitable ply. Thanks Neil
  20. I bought one too recently from Gear4music for £50 but had to return it as it was faulty (high pitch squealing every time the footswitch was engaged). I hope this was an isolated QC issue…I haven’t ordered a replacement. The online videos seem good and promising..some people using it as an "always on" to warm up class D amps or a audio interface for PC recording. It uses a 15V dc PSU which is an odd Voltage for effects, looks like a starved plate (low voltage) design of which there are loads of this type and mixed /strong comments... however I'm not aware that anyone has reversed engineered a schematic. I opened mine up as it was faulty and there were lots of SMT components on the rear of the PCB, so not entirely sure how significant the valve is in the circuit.. Here's a picture of the front side of the PCB from Talkbass, although mine looked a bit different. Be interested to see your review and comments to whether I will buy another…. Neil
  21. From the specification (KEY FEATURES) Lead from the back - the 15" Eminence speaker is suited to boosting low-mids and creating a warm, booming sound. Hopefully it will have a Eminence model label.... or email Eden and ask them
  22. Hello, Can you please provide a link to actual cab, maybe we can find the spec of the actual internal speaker online. The cab will have designed around a specific speaker (cab internal volume, dimension of port etc) so its maybe worth opening the cab up , removing the speaker seeing if the original speaker has any manufacturer label/ markings. Most speaker manufactures offer 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm varieties , so you could possibly find the same speaker in 8 Ohm, which may not be cheap..prices start at around £100ish http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?manufacturer=Eminence&masthead=Loudspeaker_Drivers&subheadnew=15_Inch_Drivers I know Eden used Eminence in their cabs, both Neodymium (lightweight) and ferrite (standard-heavier) speakers.
