1. [s]For sale Zoom B3 multi effects pedal. Great condition with power supply and box. Cannot find the manual anywhere although I know it's around somewhere. Everything is available for download from the Zoom website, and the pedal itself self is pretty self explanatory to use! Looking for £99 plus postage which I reckon will be around £5 Thanks Martin[/s]
2. [s]Another casualty of my house buying/no band situation I am now selling my fabulous MOMARK 800 head. Amp itself is in mint condition and will come with the rack ears (a £35 extra from Markbass) The amp is based around the 800 watt frame which I bought for headroom and as expected I never found it wanting in the power department. The preamp is the T1M valve preamp, followed by the 4 band eq module featuring two semi parametric middle bands. This eq sounds great and is able to tonally achieve any sound I was after. More importantly, at less than great sounding venues I was able to tailor the sound by removing boominess. The last module is the out section and this has controls for Master volume, VLE, VPF and DI line out volume. I still have the original box for the amp which has always been racked and criminally under used. I've had a quick look on line and it seems the empty 800watt frames are going for about £700ish. Therefore I'd be looking for £550 including the three modules and the rack ears and mainland UK delivery. Thanks[/s]
3. [s]Here is my much loved Bergantino HD212 up for sale, forced by a house purchase and a current lack of band! This cabinet is in fantastic nick, nothing I can photograph anyway. 700 watts with a tweeter, very efficient and built like a tank. I reviewed this a few months back on Basschat so check out my review there... I was impressed when I first bought this and then realised that as the drivers broke in further it just got better and better. Comes with HotCovers padded cover and a set of 3 inch casters to make it easier to transport. I am looking for £550 including delivery to mainland UK. Thanks for looking Martin[/s]
4. I knew this question was coming! I just keep forgetting to weigh it! I'll sort it tomorrow... I promise!
5. Forgot to say... And this may be a clincher. it's also got the Luminlay side markers.
6. ***NEW LOW PRICE*** £775 ACG Finn Type R – 5 String A lot of interest so far, alas no buyers and with house buying costs looming ever closer I need to sell this guitar!!! Its a single cutaway Finn Type R 5 string featuring a sap wood Cocobolo top on a Black Limba body, with headstock facings front and back to match. The 35 inch scale neck features a five piece flame Maple/Wenge neck with a wonderful looking Bocote fingerboard with a flat radius and zero fret. The flat radius combined with the asymmetric neck shape make this bass supremely comfortable even for my smallish hands. The pick-ups are an ACG MM style in the bridge with switching for single coil & humbucker in both series and parallel modes whilst the neck single coil is an absolute star being a large and over-wound single coil, pushing out loads of bass but also tons of aggression. This pick-up also has a coil tap switch which makes the neck pick-up sound much softer and dare I say, vintage. The third switch on the bass swaps the bridge pick-up for the under-saddle piezos which whilst not the last word in personality give loads of bottom and, to my ears at least, compliment the neck pick-up brilliantly. The Finn also features ACG's active filter Eq which once you get the hang of it is hugely versatile... In fact the whole bass is capable of a whopping amount of characterful bass tones. Comes with Hiscox case and has recently been restrung with a set of balanced gauge Circle K strings, and I will also include a used set (with loads of life left) of TI Jazz Flats. I'd rather the bass was collected from near Cambridge, but looking around at carriers shows that with genuine insurance (many carriers don't cover musical instruments in the small print) the cost would be around £40 Weight-wise according to my bathroom scales it comes in at 9lbs, I have never found the weight an issue either way as for me at least it balances very well both on a strap and on my lap. 7. Just an update... Despite not being new (albeit mint) when I got the Berg, I am now wondering whether it had been so underused that the drivers hadn't even broken in yet? Since the review I've had a few more gigs and I have to say, the thing is sounding better than ever and unless it's my imagination more efficient?! Well, I am certainly running my amp at lower volumes. The thing just sounds huge... This weekend's gig was at a holiday camp and my (too) loud band played to several hundred with no PA support, the missus report was that I could be heard loud and clear throughout the hall, and believe me nothing had even broke into a sweat. Alas, it hasn't got any lighter!!!
8. Just noticed that some of his listings state "set up by me" Whilst others say "set up by a pro" Does that mean his farming the work out now?
9.
I particularly like the " white felt bushes that I get from Holland," I reckon that's what he's been smoking
Are you not aware that all the finest examples of white felt come from Holland.
10. My ACG is completely flat, and feels very comfortable and normal to me. Not that I have a problem with radius boards either. It may be just me but it doesn't really affect me. On a regular guitar it makes a big difference, I remember when all those pointy metal guitars were the rage, barred chords could be cramp inducing.
11.
Bridge is a Babicz Full Contact Hardware bridge. It is an amazing bridge design. Check it out at Babicz Guitars. Jeff BBicz and Jeff Carano worked at Steinberger with Ned in Newburgh, NY and Carano stayed on when it was bought by Gibson. Jeff had the first production prototype and I got a chance to play it. Actually a very good playing and sounding bass. I use Babicz Full Contact Bridges on a few of my basses and really like the.
I've not tried one, it looks like right hand damping may be tricky as the strings seem to sit quite low? Have I got that wrong?
12. Thomann are stating that the EB is due to arrive on the 25th October for £950. No mention of the G3 yet but it would seem that non-reverse Thunderbird basses are turning up at the same time and the same price!!! Wasn't even aware they were making non-reverse TBs?
13. I'll certainly try one, although the fiddler in me will try to work out a way to wire the middle pickup to a push/pull. Really fancy the single coil neck pickup on its own. I annoy myself sometimes, it's not even out yet let alone purchased and I'm already nodding it!
14. Left over from the GK rig I had, although I never used the Bi-Amp option these leads are ideal for GK rig owners looking to use the Bi-Amp function. Lead can also be used as a standard 2 pole. Only used once to check it worked. £9 inc. 15. Try these, hope it works I'm on my phone http://www.dawsons.co.uk/gibson-grabber-3-70s-tribute-bass-guitar-satin-ebony http://www.gak.co.uk/en/gibson-grabber-3-70s-tribute-bass-satin-honeyburst/75604
16. Looks like Dawsons have them on order, quoting £799. Yes I can see myself going from never considering a Gibson to hankering after a collection!!!
17. I think this looks really nice... There is an element of Mosrite but from memory the bottom horn would have to stick out further than the top one. IIRC Mosrites shapewise were essentially Fender Jazzmasters turned upside down. Anyhow I'll be interested to hear/play it. Funnily enough I've never really been into Gibson basses and having recently decided to try a Thunderbird find Gibson on the verge of releasing three new basses that all float my boat in some way. And from what I can tell with a few shops promising the Grabber 3 for between £650 - £800 and the Midtown at around £950 - £999 I don't think the street prices are any more painful than any other US made gear. I wonder when they're due to arrive?
18. She's a beauty!!! Yes I'll take heel joint too... One of those happened overnight jobs!
19. JO is a great player indeed (in my top 3 anyway)... Not tried the Lakland flats but bear in mind you'll probably have to play them for a bit before they settle into that classic Flat sound. Thomastik Jazz Flats are also nice sounding, but take a little getting used to as particularly on the 5 string set the tensions feel a little all over the shop!
