1. I just did a trade with Shaun, a very nice fella, and he was a great guy to deal with overall. Highly recommended.
2. I sold a rather lovely, very collectable Ibanez Roadster to Vlado, and he was a pleasure to do business with. We agreed a figure, he paid immediately, and it all went completely without a hitch. Highly recommended.
3. A really fantastic looking bass - I'm not in a position to buy right now, but surely someone will snap this up soon??? Can't believe it's still here...
4. Many thanks Westie9... unfortunately it's still here! Nearly the weekend bump...
5. Likewise....
6. The first two stacked controls are individual volumes for the two pickups, so they can be run individually or blended. The second two stacked controls are treble and bass cut/boost. The switch is preamp in/out. There's no passive tone control, but with the eq set flat, switching in the preamp makes no discernible difference to level or tone - it's really transparent. The more I describe this bass, the more I think I must be mad selling it! And yes Graham, the mods weren't cheap. I'm actually losing a bit overall selling at this price. I'll try and put up something on YouTube so you can hear what it sounds like. Dave
7. Still for sale... price reduced to £750...
8. Still for sale.... reduced price to £900...
9.
Think I am going to keep this now and sell my Fender Precision instead! See here: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
Wise choice Dan!
10. I acquired one of these very basses in Tobacco Sunburst a few months ago from another BC'er, and it's a fabulous instrument. My first 'decent' bass which I bought second hand in 1981 was a pre-Ernie Ball Stingray, which I foolishly sold some years later when in dire financial straits. The Classic is so reminiscent of it - the lacquered neck, through stringing, slab body, string dampers are all great, but more importantly, for me it has that elusive juiciness that most SR5's seem to lack, and I've owned a few. Playing my Classic is like snogging an old girlfriend... I can't recommend it highly enough - if it appeals to you on any level, BUY IT. You will not be disappointed!
11. Back up for sale again...
12.
Something's not quite making sense to me here. Why didn't the band/agent say something like: "We'd like you aboard. Is there any way you could slim down a bit?" Why was the OP apparently not given that option? I just wonder if the the true picture might be a little more complex than somebody's girth.
Simple reason - record company control freakery. They picked on an contentious issue to see how much the rest of the band wanted to 'bend over' if you'll pardon the expression. Now they know they'll conform to any and every demand, A&R will treat the entire band as their bitches and they will do whatever they like. They are utterly screwed.
13. Thanks for your kind words, gents! It makes me wonder if I'm being too hasty putting it up for sale...
