@Chienmortbb thanks. I’m waiting for the replacement part, the input block (is that what it’s called?!) and the loan of a soldering iron.
I will report my findings!

I found the MXR Blowtorch to be particularly nuts, and they can be found quite cheap. Was going to ditch mine until I was just messing about with it and put the middle and treble on full (frequency switch to the right, can’t remember the numbers), bass at about 11 o’clock. And you can blend it too.
Powerful and very, very fuzzy.-

For me the power connector solderings looks bad. Try to move it, and look at the surface where solder meets the board. Are they broken?
I can’t see any breakages but there is definitely movement in the block that is the input.

Doesn't look too bad - you might want to clean up that milky looking area with some IPA (isopropyl alcohol, not india pale ale, lol). Solder joints look solid enough, so my money is on the DC jack itself having failed. I'd replace it.
Yeah I’ll look for a replacement. Thanks again for your time 👍 -

Got any pics of the offending area?
I’m just heading out to work for the weekend. I can send a picture on Sunday when I get back. Really appreciate you taking the time to respond. Thank you 👍

@neepheid thanks man. I’ve had a peek inside and I think it’s cracked. The soldering around it looks unhealthy, milky white.

My Boss LMB-3 has died on me! It’ll only come on if sideways force is applied to the power supply lead. It goes off as soon as this force is taken off.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Thanks

Got absolutely obsessed with Midnite Vultures. I’d list it as one of my all time favourite LPs. I remember it getting slated in the music press which always left me bemused.
Such a remarkable talent.

@Jack have you tried DR Hi-Beams? I’ve got them on my Thumb and would recommend them.
-
@Jack steel strings will be fine. You should expect some wear on your frets over the years and they can be redressed by a luthier.
Bottom line is; do they sound good to you? If so, play on!-

@patrikmarky find one and play it. Be patient, necks can vary but you already know how good Warwicks are. There will be one out there for you. Good hunting!

“Broadcast live on Friday 28th November 1985, plus the songs they carried on playing when the show went off-air after transmission”.
On YouTube. Go watch it.
Michael Burnett playing a Stingray that sounds amazing. What a player. What a singer. What a band! Eyes right!

Great place. Bought a 97 Warwick from them last year. Traded a pedal too. Recommended.

@bubinga5 good points. Funk is feel thing.
Funk is a radio and we all choose to tune in to our favourite stations. For me it’s the heavier, more psychedelic sounds of P-Funk and Prince. Respect to James Brown and Earth Wind and Fire but I’ll never listen to them.
