1. Fender trying to be nostalgic but nostalgia aint what it used to be
 2. sheehan, great player dont want to get into a discussion about his beliefs as i`m too tired, been awake all night wondering if there really is a dog... but thats because i am an agnostic, dyslexic imsomniac!
 3. Basschatters.....I really need your advice. I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs; phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with 'the girls' a lot recently, although when I ask their names she always says "just some friends from w*rk, you don't know them". I try to stay awake and look out for her when she comes home, but I usually fall asleep. Anyway, I have never broached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just did not want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to finally check on her. Around midnight, I hid in the garage behind my spare jazz bass so I could get a good view of the whole street when she arrived home from a night out with 'the girls.' When she got out of the car she was buttoning up her blouse, and she took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on. It was at this moment, crouching behind my jazz bass, that I noticed a hairline crack on the maple neck between the ninth and tenth fret Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it to a luthier. Regards, Uptonmark

 15.
Amidst all the ranting and raving, what nobody seems to have picked up on is that you have only been playing for 5 minutes. The bass is a surprisingly physical instrument to play. You have the physical disadvantage of being female too - smaller hands more than likely.
smaller feet too, so they can get nearer to the kitchen sink
 16. i have never had a problem with arrogant shop staff, but thats probably because i am a much better person than them
 17.
I think the headstock shape is very important. ie: Fender P and J bass. perfect. Ric. the same. Gibson Les Paul guitars and basses ditto. everything else, big debate. IMO
what about these?

 24. Bernard Edwards used a Fender Jazz on such early Chic hits as “Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)” but for much of his career he used a ’77 Music Man StingRay, which Duran Duran’s John Taylor now owns. His clean recorded sound in part comes from recording mostly direct. “Bernard never changed strings,” says Nile Rodgers. “In one of my favorite interview quotes of all time, Bernard was asked, ‘So, what kind of strings do you use?’ He looked at his bass and went, ‘I don’t know; what kind of strings come on a Music Man bass?’”
