  1. Keep em coming chaps, thanks! Funny how drummers keep cropping up. It is a drummer, he quit without notice but now his replacement has moved in he is suggesting he might have made a mistake. We are using him as a dep initially but the future divides our band. One wants him in, one is undecided. And there’s me!
  2. If you have experience of re-enlisting a former bandmate, please feel free to share. Has it worked for you? Do previous problems recur? If someone quit without warning would you trust them again? Ta!
  3. And another successful transaction with this trustworthy Basschatter!🙏
  4. Do tell us the names of your bands and the gear used🙏
  5. You conjured up your inner Kelly Groucutt👏
  6. Tony is kindly helping me out with a spare part for my Jazz Bass bridge. Very grateful!
  7. No-one got one of these in their spare parts box then?🤔 Happy to pay a charitable donation/postage!
  8. I think there’s room for us all in this big ol’ Basschat world! From what I have read I admire you both. My major motivation is the need to play for as long as I am physically able: too many of my musical inspirers are checking out, and the recent loss of @bumnote and @yorks5stringer has brought home how you never know how long you have got… PS I know what you mean about football, @Clarky … I am a Fulham s/t holder x2. Wish us luck tomorrow night!
  9. One of several people I never met but feel I know. Sincere condolences to family and friends.
  10. A perfect transaction in every respect. Prompt payment, good comms… recommended!
  11. Intrigued as to how it works financially (not trying to be rude) to travel to Brighton for a support gig. Is it for exposure or do they actually pay?
  12. Or a beetles fan?
  13. I put a plea in items wanted to no avail. So please guide me. Maybe a pic would help… I have lost one of the long screws and associated spring from my Jazz Bass bridge . You can only buy in packets but I would prefer one that isnt going to stand out by being shiny and new. Can anyone help me please? 🙏 Here is the bridge missing a screw.
  14. Kirsty classics Kite and Electric Landlady have been reissued on audiophile-quality vinyl. No need to stress the excellence if these releases. Amazon price them each at £35. 😬 I will accept £25 the pair, UK post included.
  15. Great communication on our recent deal - a trustworthy Basschatter!
  16. His son Adam played for them live for some years (visible or not, I don’t know)… I wouldve thought any decent keyboard player would have wanted to remain anonymous 😂
  17. Triple post. Cerys clearly overdubbed😂
  18. Why I own a Uke bass….😈
  19. Mick was a really good bass player who certainly impressed me. Fly Guitars - an excellent resource - did an interview with him which explains the genesis of this instrument. https://www.flyguitars.com/interviews/mickhawksworth3.php
  20. Pretty sure Rick only played with them on one studio track and was paid in beer! Can you really see the man who ate a curry in stage with Yes staying behind a curtain? I can’t!
  21. Effortless transaction… again! Deal with confidence.👏
  22. This is truly a classic thread… Stop me if I have told this one before… In 1980 I had a band modelled on the Pretenders, whom I had seen and fallen in love with. Our Chrissie was an Australian girl who ended up being deported I believe - anyway she left us looking for a replacement. We auditioned four girls at Alaska Studios in Waterloo, London. Among them was a lass fresh down from Scotland who was so shy she wouldn’t emerge from the corner of the room at first. Also she had a rather obnoxious boyfriend, as I recall. So we passed. Months later I saw Eddi Reader on TV backing the Gang of Four, and later still duetting with Annie Lennox in Eurythmics. Bloomin ‘eck! Bet she has had many a sleepless night regretting my decision😂
