  1. I've just spent nearly an hour searching for a very specific  three way toggle switch online.  Cheapest ebay sellers in the US were asking 7 quid.  UK sellers online were asking twenty quid.  I found a seller here in China offering them for 40p each.  I'm speechless.

      Could be. Should find out in less than 6 months with regular use?

      I've been unimpressed with things like that in the past, so I'm the fool who pay £8.00.

       

      edit: Or how about this: It's cheap enough to put in a Christmas cracker. If it came from there would you install it? :)

      there is literally no need for a switch to cost £8 - you can make a high quality switch for far less than 40p, so whether you are getting one for £8 or 40p doesn't tell you anything about the quality of the switch, it tells you everything about the financials of the companies that give it to you. 

      If you feel an important quality of a switch is how much it costs, then you would be better off with the £8 one!
