  1. Blood, Sugar Sex Magic - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
  2. Somewhere down the Crazy River - Robbie Robertson
  3. I've spent a fortune on amps that I like the sound of (and since I'm dreadful at letting stuff go, I still have nearly all of them). I doubt 99% of punters could tell much/any difference between any of them and wouldn't care if they could. I rarely play through FOH so in answer to the question, my amp sound is for me and the 1% of punters who give a toss what the bass sounds like.
  4. Football's Coming Home - Baddiel & Skinner (Lightening Seeds)
  5. He probably got free Country Life butter for the rest of life when he did those TV ads for them a few years back.
  6. Brilliant gear. I use a Tech 2x12 and it's light as a feather and an absolute beast.
  7. I'd be all for it but there are too many hurdles for me. First and foremost, I've financed all of our PA since all the others are classic impoverished musicians who spend the vast majority of their time drinking beer and moaning about how skint they are. I'm also skint, but not because I spend all of my time drinking beer. The chances of any of them stumping up a fiver towards any changes are less than nil. Secondly, the gig situation has gone downhill rapidly since Covid and I don't particularly fancy too much exposure in crowded spaces. Thirdly, I think my gigging days are probably numbered now through age, enthusiasm and all of the above.
  8. Maybe, somewhere in a parallel universe, this is a viable option.
  9. Fanfare for the Common Man - Emerson Lake and Palmer
  10. Darkness on the Edge of Town - Bruce Springclean
  11. Paul Denman certainly influenced me with his playing for Sade. I got a Stingray which I'll never sell because I loved the sounds he got out of his. I also really liked his 'less is more' approach to slap rather than the popular trend to smother whole tracks and even albums with it. He somehow managed to play in an understated way that would really grab your attention.
