That's impressive work Rubis, looks marvelous.

Love the pic Ped

Yes I would assume that the blacks want soldering together. Red to volume live and white to ground.

What hooky said, also if the screws are close to the old ones, then they may well start to go in a bit wonky. If there's a risk of that happening, I would first fill the old holes with wood glue and cocktail sticks and leave it to harden.

They are great strings and I've found them to be very long lived.

Excellent as always Andy.

I've found that if I do the popping thing on my P bass that wears Elixirs, then it's a waste of effort and is lost in the mix, if I do the same with the P with D'addarios or Highbeams, all is good.

What a rotten situation CyberBass but so glad to hear that you survived. Hope you make a full recovery and get back to playing in the not too distant.

North West Guitars do some good necks Dave.

@ped were the knobs from the site that you linked to a few pages back?

Maybe I should get a set of those for mine, looks good.

What a transformation
I've worked on plenty of grubby instruments but none quite as minging as your one.

Don't confuse your personal preferences and prejudices with the audiences idea of a good song.
Very true but it's hellishly difficult sometimes

The stock pick ups aren't bad but I put a set of Wizard 64s in the one I had, really added to the oomph

Love that bass line. Typical of the Faces, where, to me, it always feels so loose that it could all fall to pieces and go very pear shaped but doesn't

It's not that easy to see the details on your pics (could be my eyesight though) but is the solder very messy. If it is, then it could be that someone inexperienced has been in there and caused damaged to the pots, by overheating them when soldering.

Hope your good wife is not too unhappy with the purchase

Have you got it yet boss?
