  1. So long as the truss rod is functioning, then with the right set up, you should be good with pretty much any string gauge.

Turn the screw clockwise again until you feel some tension. Have the strings slack at this point and get the neck straight or even slightly back bowed.

Then tune up and check the relief etc.

  2. Another retirement sale item.

This little amp lived in my gig bag as a spare and has had virtually no use. It's in pretty much as new condition, which should be obvious in the photos down below.

Everything that it came with from new is included. The mains lead, a small jack to jack and a USB.

Complete with the original box and instruction booklet.

I'm happy for it to be road tested here at my place, although you would have to bring along a cab as I've now sold both of mine.

It can be collected or if required, I can send via a reliable courier, which would be around £18. (If you want a cheaper courier, let me know).

  3. Tread very carefully, as it's easy to effectively move the problem along the board. Literally do a couple of strokes of the files and keep on checking for rocking on the adjacent frets. Also make sure that the fret that you suspect is causing the problem, is actually seated in properly. Sometimes all that is required is a gentle tap with a light weight hammer.

  5. Another of my retirement sales, this lovely Gallien Krueger MB Fusion 500.

Super powerful amp in a compact format.

    Very good, used condition.

I replaced the preamp valves last year, so they should be good for a long time.

I never found this amp to be lacking, I used it in pubs/clubs and also played some large venues and open air gigs.

Brilliant, versatile eq section and two channels.

    I'm in Hoddesdon, Herts.

Happy for home visits to road test it with my Barefaced cab. (So long as the cab hasn't sold).

    Price is £450 ono.

If you want it couriered, then let me know and I will get a price.

    Also selling this Barefaced cab

  6. Another retirement sale item, the very impressive MXR M80 pedal and power supply/adaptor.

In very good used condition and everything works as it should.

Happy for it to be road tested at my place or I can post for around a fiver.

A bit of the advertising blurb down below.

    Manufacturer's ID: JD-M80

Finally, all the essentials in one tough little box, You need a serious D.I. for playing live and laying down killer tracks. You've got to have a preamp and finely tuned EQ to add punch to your tones.

This one-of-a-kind pedal gives you the whole deal in a bomb-proof enclosure that will survive even the most out of control gigs-and players. Built with the highest quality components, the M-80 can give you everything from warmth and transparency to a volcanic roar, without making you scroll through menu screens or an indecipherable manual.

Engage the color switch for some sweet preset EQ, then tweak your tone with three band control. Dial in your ideal distortion with the gain knob and blend just the right amount into your clean signal, then kick it on and off at will.

The adjustable noise gate pours on the sustain and cuts out hum and hiss. With XLR and parallel 1/4" outputs and a phantom power switch, you'll never have a problem delivering your choice new tones.

I'm also selling this great little effects unit

  7. No more gigging for me, so my very well looked after Barefaced Big Baby 3rd Generation cab is up for sale.

As can be seen in the photos, the condition is excellent.

It can be road tested here with either my Galien Kruger  or TC electronics heads (unless they sell first).

Given that I'm selling due to retirement, no trades thanks.

I would prefer collection but will discuss couriers and costs if required.

I am just wondering whether a new nut such as a Graphtech TusqXL would be easier? Has anyone experience of these?

I fit a lot of these on customers instruments. Highly recommended, nicely cut slots and self lubricating.

They usually need a little shaping/sanding for an exact fit but easy enough to do, with small files and varying grades of sand paper or micromesh.
