9.
Is it still available and What is the impeedance on this cab cheers pete
Hi Pete, Yes - still available! Impedance? I'm pretty sure that it's 8 Ohms - but I can't find any info on the Trace Elliot site (useless for old product info!) & there's nothing written on the cab itself. I had the cab advertised previously on BassTalk & some more knowledgable folks than me all confirmed that it was 8 Ohms. Cheers Jim
  10.
I'd certainly try it. I buy a lot of smaller parts from basspartsresource.com. They ship via USPS (rather than UPS) and I have never been asked to pay any import duty so far.
+1 on buying stuff from basspartsresource.com - never had to pay duty...

  12. Trace Elliot 1510X 300W (8 Ohms) Cab for sale. This is quite old - but has been in storage for the last 10 years unused - so is in really good condition for its age - just a bit dusty! A great full range cab - that can be bi-amped if you want. Complete with wheels. £125.00 Collection from Banbury, Oxfordshire (it would probably be expensive to ship) - or I could deliver it a reasonable distance for a petrol contribution... *** NOW SOLD ***

    99ster Feedback
99ster comes with my full recommendation. I bought a couple of things at a fantastic price and received them very quickly. Great comms too! Cheers Jim, paul.
Many thanks Paul - that's much appreciated!
  14. Here's a big recommendation for Paul! A top geezer! Very smooth transaction - paid instantly & great comms. You can't say better than that. Many thanks Paul!
  15.
Yes on a Mexican rosewood fingerboard Fender. I had one on a Mexican Jazz.
Well I never... Thanks for the extra info Muppet! I stand corrected!
  16.
I mean obviously the sunburst refin gets a vote from me, but i've always been a fan of the vintage cream colours with a tort pickguard. Fecking Quality Si a quick p.s. edit: i think i beat the profanity filter hehe
Yes - there's no denying the goodness of a nicely aged Olympic White + tort pickguard.... Mmmm... But black + tort pickguard.... can look wicked with all the chrome in place.
  17.
Isn't there supposed to be a skunk stripe on the back of the neck on these things? Also there seems to be a difference to the fading on the back of the neck close to the neck pocket, like the neck was originally on another body. Add to that there's absolutely no sign of the Ricky he claims he's sold in his feedback, and I'd stick well clear. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting
Skunk stripe? Not a on a rosewood finger board Fender. You're maybe thinking of a solid maple neck/board - when the truss-rod is added from behind...
  18.
I actually like that horrid orangey colour!
Back 25 years ago in my punk rock days I might have agreed with you! But I'm a certified old [horse and cart] now - so I reckon it will end up as sensible understated sunburst or black...(open to suggestions!). That respray orangey/red will definitely be coming off though as we need to see what's hidden underneath it - as I'm pretty confident it is a vintage body...
  19.
Methinks your other playmates might feel jealous if they find themselves pushed down the line by your new mistress! A great find Hamster
Yes - I think it could turn out to be a great find indeed... Sometimes you gotta just take a gamble on The Bay! I'll keep the ladies in separate rooms so we don't get a cat fight!
  20.
The one that I posted is supposed to be a '66 if that makes any difference...
I'd say that was a 64 neck (size of 'trade mark' lettering & detached 'offset contour' logo) with modern machine heads (66 would maybe have Klusons - more likely paddle tuners)....
  21.
Yep, there's this one... http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Bass-Illustra...y/dp/0634026402 I have a copy and, while I'm no vintage Fender geek, it's a great and insightful read. I'd pass on this bass personally.
+1 on that - a great book...
  22.
I'm no "vintage geek" lol, but shouldn't the "Custom Contour Body" transfer be placed further to the right, rather than tight up against the rest of the writing ? Is this a fake ? Difficult to say exactly what it is from just the one picture but that picture does seem to throw up several questions which suggest that something's not right. If it's an aftermarket decal that's been put on then you have to ask if it's a Fender at all ?
Yes - the "Custom Contour Body" transfer should be placed further to the right (& it looks a bit wonky!) - & it's missing the 'PAT PENDING' transfer altogether... The decal is altogether a bit of a 'bodge' job. So good question BOD2 - is it a Fender at all? Myself I wouldn't buy it because of the stickers on the body...
  23.
Cheers for the replies. The seller says it's 10 years old; fake then?
It would be a (poor) fake if he said it was a 40 year old vintage Jazz... But he's not if he's saying it dates from 1997. And it could very well be 10 years old - & then the value depends more on what type of bass he says it is - not how old it is...
