Bump for lovely gear! I'm thinking of trading my PJB sixpack for a gb head and 4x10

Fantastic, lovely demo of the sounds available! I still want one...
Maplin sell acoustic wadding for speaker cab stuffing/tuning. I imagine other places sell it too, and probably cheaper.

Just ripped out the inside of an old cheap pillow, it worked well! Just make sure you stick it down with lots of glue otherwise you could have all sorts of problems once there's a lot of air being pushed around...
Thanks guys -
I'm pretty sure that is the amp section of a combo in a home made sleeve. Potentially nothing wrong with that. But if you're new to amps, walk away.
Yep, that's what it looks like to me too! The guts from a kickback, you can see where the amp model has been 'marker-penned' out on the right of the photo! Avoid
Hartke are v good tho, I used to have a stack with HA3500 and 2 of the alu coned 4.5XL 4x10s, sounded really good, traded up to Eden after that and then on to Phil Jones for a reduced size with a similar kick... -
sounded lovely and fat didn't it!!

Yep, you can see the soapbar bartolini pickups in your photo... -
Wow what a thread but it's been beautiful looking before in your 'imperfect' stages so am really looking forward to the finished and perfect article!!
Good luck matey -
I like meaningless/helpful derogatory fun!
things I hate / have grown to hate over the years...
Ashdown - am well on the bandwagon there! flabby and gritty nastiness with pointless Spinal Tap 'how fast are you playing meter'
Mark-Bass - sorry guys, flappy, farty rubbish - cabs and amps
G&L basses, sound lovely with brand new strings but sound exactly like soggy cardboard when strings are 2 days old!
that is all...for now -
a mate of mine (Martin) worked for Matamp as a builder and is now going solo http://www.martamp.com/ he mostly does all valve guitar amps but he does do nice cab builds too...ask him for a quote (and a timescale - he's usually quite busy), lovely guy though.

frickin laugh out loud awesome!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the party!

I really like the sound of my PJB Bass Buddy! it works really well as a headphone amp as well as a DI preamp straight to a desk...comes in a nice little carry case with a strap too!
No bass collection is ever complete without:
1) Fender jazz
2) Fender precision
3) MusicMan Thingray
4) Rickenbacker 4001/3
5) Decent Yamaha workhorse
6) Custom Fodera 5-string.
Now its just a question of which order you get them in.
I've had four out of the six (several of each in fact), will likely never have a Fodera and haven't ever tried a yam that I liked...maybe one of the ones that myung used to play might be ok I suppose? -
Genz Benz give me GAS!

Have you tried looking at completed listings on ebay to see if any have been sold recently? This is usually my first port of call when pricing gear up...

I was seriously considering buying this and trading it for the Sandberg PM4. Pity, really...

Glad to have saved you the anguish matey, I do so hate causing people pain... -
They won't pay out even if you pay for the insurance - musical instruments are explicitly excluded from enhanced compensation. Do yourself a favour and boycott ParcelForce - they are absolutely no use to you, the insurance mis-selling gits.
I never knew that! I'm shocked and disgusted!!

It's right there but they don't tell you at the post office counter!!
Appalling!! -
Sorry to see this coming up Andy, times is hard in the Republic......great colour combo on a great bass, good luck with the sale.
Thanks Mart, times are indeed hard...and it is as you say a lovely bass, thanks matey! -
Mine took a long long time but it really is lovely, you need a lot of patience but the end result is v pleasing! I sent weekly emails chatting and checking for update and always found him helpful and communicative.
-
What did you use to fill/stuff the cab?
-
That looks very smart! It's exactly what I'm about to try to build!
-
free bump for a local lovely! Shuker is just up the road from me...
-
simple thought to throw in...
bass - essentially for single notes (with a bit of chording)
guitar - chords ahoy (with a bit of single note stuff)
2 different beasts for 2 different purposes even with the tonal crossover?

Nick bought an SR4 from me, paid by cheque very very quickly, was very patient while waiting for it to clear and be delivered, friendly and communicative, thoroughly nice chap to deal with!
