I'm not sure I'd refer to it as smooth but the Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie B has a wet blend function that I find really useful. :)

This! The 'shape' knob on the pickle-pie is v versatile and can get you smooth or very nasty...

Any Idea? Yesterday @ about 1:00pm, Interparcel/DPD picked up a Parcel at the Seller, (wich has 100% my Trust) in Sheffield. Parcel goes to Germany, but until now, there is nothing to see when I like to track the Parcel. DPD.co.uk Homepage says. "Awaiting Receipt of Parcel."

I guess everything will be good at least, but i feel i'm getting nervous...

We discovered that the DPD / interparcel tracking is mostly crappy and doesn't update, the parcel arrived with Tom this morning and was all safe and sound (so that was all spot on). I'd probably use DPD again as they are very reasonably priced but they don't 'do tracking' so I'd be warning the recipient!

  3. Tom was a gent throughout, paid very quickly and was super patient while I worked what an IBAN was!

Would absolutely deal with him again and owuld also heartily recommend him to all on here!

Didn't meet him (he's in Germany and I'm in Sheffield) but did have many pm and email chats, top chap!

    Thanks mate

For me the shoulder straps are the whole point of having a gig bag over some other type of case. If I wasn't going to carry it on my back I'd go for a lightweight hard case like a Hiscox instead.
precisely this! This is why I want/need a gig bag...

I have loads of protection racket stuff for my drums and it is really rather nice

in fact the deluxe bass case/bag looks super nice! it's got the same 'sheepskin' in it that the drum cases have and I know that stuff's super soft! looks really nice for £86 ish

Protection Racket have a good rep and seem good value, but I must point out I've not used their bass gig bag. Yet.

As usual,I totally recommend the iGig cases. They are really well padded and have a load
of extra pockets too. I haven't used a hard case for years.

They look superb! Not cheap at all, but superb! (moderately heavy though yes?)

Is there a UK dealer who has them or are they only from igig themselves?

  8. Wowsa, the contego weighs 8lb and the mono m80 5.75lb, that's got to be a noticeable difference! the mono is also slightly more roomy inside

    http://www.protecmusic.com/items.aspx?ProductID=410&InstrumentID=5&InstrumentGroupID=4&CategoryID=2&subCategoryID=45

Even though the contego is loads cheaper it may still be the mono!

Anyone found it cheaper than bass direct? (£135 shipped)

  9. So, I've recently shipped a bass in my favourite gig bag (a ritter one that served me well for a long time!) as there was no other option...

I now need a new gig bag! this is where you come in...

I've heard good things about the protec and the mono and I know folks swear by other ones too so I'm after a bit of guidance from the forum at large...

My basses generally live (and mostly travel) in their hard-case, our practice rooms are in walking distance from our house so sometimes I just carry my bass down there, I want to be able to comfortably carry my bass and know it's protected while it's standing around before and after practice. Sometimes I'm also a little lazy and just take the gig bag out for gigs too so it ideally needs to be a bit more sturdy than my ex-but-well-loved-ritter...

  10. I made the leap to EUB late last year and yes it is a very different way of playing; yes it's a whole new scale length to play with, BUT, it's sooo cool!

I got an NXT4 and a Fishman Platinum Pro preamp and it does sound remarkably good through a PA, some songs just 'have' to have an EUB rather than an 'ordinary' electric bass, they sound wrong with electric...

I tried a few in shops over many years, the Ampeg baby bass was lovely, never got to try the stagg as no-one had it in stock when I was there but it was on my list for ages until I saw the bass I eventually bought for such a low price I had to buy it instead of the stagg...

  11. My lovely Lakland 2011 55-01 Ltd Edition Blueburst is up for sale now as I have a new 55-02 and it's a 'one in one out' type arrangement with my wifey...

1 gig , 4 practices, great sounds, no marks!

All as stock, mint condition, the only variation from the photos (link below) is that I've taken the plastic covering off the tuner heads...
