a recommended luthier in Essex - total waste of time - avoid!
Shonks replied to Shonks's topic in Repairs and Technical
I actually replaced Bob in the band he used to play in! I've also found his work to be lacking as well as his time scheduling he set up one of my basses and it was all over the place when he had finished - intonation was way out. Steve - I can recommend a guy called Chris Cutmore 07717130559, who lives in Thundersley. A couple of the music stores locally use him.
brilliant!! thanks!! -
You'd think that given how diificult things have been in recent years for most small businesses, that he would do everything possible to make a new customer happy. Is Stevenage in Herts too far from your neck of the woods? There is a very good chap over there.
my thoughts exactly....I'll go too London to get it done...thanks!! -
Idea of this thread was to figure what is gonna be selling underpriced, so I can sit on them for a while: http://basschat.co.u...-at-the-moment/
you've created a monster
Ha ha - If you ever have the misfortune of hearing me play, you'll know the likelihood of me becoming famous is extremely improbable!!
don't put yourself down like that. The odds for you are pretty good if you consider some of the sig basses out there - dont want to name names but some of those sig Precision basses are a joke!! anyway... Buy a bass to play not as an investment that's my advice! An unplayed bass kept for investment is sacrilegious.

buy any old crappy cheap bass, become famous. and before you know it Fender will be making a custom shop signature version of it for £2500. Or a regular Jap version for £999. The original then becomes priceless (but still a crappy cheap one)

logos in the wrong postion and is a mid 70's. Hotrods were only made for a couple of years from the year 2000, the bridge pickup is askew, the tuners are all wrong, the bridge is wrong and there's no serial number, ...otherwise everything is cool....oh..the knobs might be a mod!

practice mate that's all there is to it! for a really smooth fast assent and descent try accenting every 3rd note even if your playing 16's, this takes the accent off the shifting hand. Try it from your lowest note E, or B on a five string, all the way up to the top fret on the G string and then go back down. After a dozen times you'll need a cup of tea!
