i wouldn't put a cheapo unbranded bridge an expensive branded bass. It might work well, or might not, but it wont cosmetically do your bass any favours. why dont you see if anyone out there want's to trade a black Badass for yours or you could just spray it with black enamel.

YouTube link down the page: I did the mod and now demo-ing the result - check it out! I have just acquired a Musicman humbucker from a 90's 5 string stingray and I'm thinking of sandwiching it between the two existing p'ups on my 5 string (90's USA Fender) jazz bass. That's the position that looks as close to a stingray as the other p'ups will allow. The thinking behind it is to make it something my 4 string jazz can't do as my 5 and 4 are more or less replicas of each other with J East retro electrics. Originally I wanted a 5er that sounded exactly like my 4er and its almost is. Now I think it's slightly self defeating and it would be nice to have the 5er sound completely different, so the idea of installing a humbucker will give me the best of both worlds (i hope). I know some of you are thinking why not go out and buy a stingray, but I love my Jazz Basses and think it would be cool to have the Ray on a 'switch' as it were. the idea it this: install 2 toggles, one for series/parallel and one to switch between the jazz neck p'up or the Ray p'up. The Ray then can be used on its own or combined with the bridge p'up which remains as is .(gawd knows what that'll sound like) You don't see any commercial basses with a humbucker at the neck and a single coil at the bridge which to me seems more practical than the common config which is the other way round. Why is that? is it a crap sound or something??? Surely the hot-rod P basses are just that. I know the old argument that its never going to sound like a Ray..blah blah..but it should sound tasty though. (meaty, like a beef sandwich) so...what do you think? am I mad? will it work? its a lot of routing and once it's done there's no going back. I've attached a photoshop mockup of what it'll look like
Had one, sold it, and then bought another one! Great little multi-fx that fits in the pocket of your gigbag, high quality effects, volume-wah pedal has a good continous sweep and it's very well made. I'd add on to your review that the ME-20b is very intuitive to use. The effect parameters are simple to navigate and the ability to save banks of effects comes in very handy! A good buy for anyone that wants decent effects in a small package. Tempted to buy the ME-20 for guitar too. Alex
and wot he said! i use mine on the guitar (Fender Strat) when recording in conjuction with a Behringer BDI 21 V-tone (just for recording) and gotta say I get some preeetty good sounds out of it The Behringer by the way is a great and S/H very cheap bit of gear which I also recommend. Cost me £14 on ebay which is about average and does a nice amp modeling job and switched off it becomes a cool DI for just about any application

Boss ME-20B i like it I use mainly the volume pedal, and tuner. The compressor is handy when I use my small combo which hasn't a comp' on board.and very rarely kick in a bit of chorus or octavider effect, which happens to perform brilliantly. volume pedal is great as you can physically tighten the bolts so there's loads of resistance for those with a heavy foot. tuner still works with the pedal up and the output off - handy. its good just as a foot mute for changing over basses too. compact well built and well behaved. the octave part of it works better than the Boss dedicated pedal and the MXR from personal experience. - bass players don't really need effects for live work imo so the main thing for me tuner and volume pedal - I got on here second hand for £60 and for that kinda dosh you cant go wrong really. hope my little review was helpful good luck BCers

Solid walnut body. (home sprayed in antique white - looking very similar to an aged olympic white finish) contemporary USA thru body bridge with saddle grooves. (when I tried to take the ferules from the back to spray the body I splintered the wood (dammit) so I left them alone and just masked them off in the end) Bartolini PJ set with CTS pots and orange drop cap Solid brass knobs and solid brass recessed jack socket. The neck is maple and the board looks to me like pao ferro rosewood. The truss adjusts at the body end and is working well. Its nicely factory varnished and has a vintage look to it The neck overall is brilliant and I urge you to come and check the bass out, you wont be dissapointed. The machine heads are cheapos but do the job ok. Overall you have a brilliant bass here and anyone who's familiar with Bart p'ups will know what this'll sound like. Plays and sounds like a pro bass and is as good as any USA Fender out there!! No brand name makes this a cheapy but the components make it a quality instrument at a bargain price £250 + post but rather it was collected the pickups have a little paint residue on them in the pictures but they have cleaned up ok - couldn't be arsed to take new pics
