sounded awesome with my Hartke 3500 - very much like the Marcus Miller sound. As much, if not more bottom end than my Warwick 211 2x10 - (not sure what drivers are in there, but I suspect Eminence again) If you're looking for a big fat dubby sound then these probably aren't right for you unless they're used in conjunction with another cab, something like a 1x15, which is quite a common setup, as in my pics. However, having said that, these had enough bottom to handle a 50's/60's/70's covers band with ease as they had so much headroom - i'm saying all this from my hard earned experience but I'm no tech. You're more than welcome to come over and try the cab without obligation ! hi folks, here's the amps spec: H = 22cm w = 63cm D = 29 cm weight: 15 kg size will be slightly more in a box with padding + the foot switch (got the pic off the web as it looks similar) the switch with mine is a channel select switch: A, or B or A+B A - regular 3 band eq + graphic (switchable) vintage basses sound great here B - parametric eq + graphic (switchable) very modern sound, even these days. the switchable limiter applies to both channels
I had one of these for years and even with the original drivers it was a good loud cab. I can't work out how that switch is wired though! GLWTS.
it's an on/on/on DPTT wired the same way as a pickup coil tap selector on a bass, series/single/parallel. It works great. The cab on it's own as a 4 ohm cab or in conjunction with another 8ohm then you can switch it to a single 8ohm driver or use both drivers in series giving 16ohm, together with the other 8ohm cab making about 12ohm . simple!
If you happen to still have this cab and planning to travel up North (I live in Manchester), I'm will take it off you.
the cab is still up for grabs but unless someone out there offers me a dep job near you I've no plans to go traveling up North. If anybody 'darn sarf' reads this and is going maybe we can blag a favour. A courier would be about £12 I reckon
With this being a bass pre-amp do I also require a power amp before a can play it through a cabinet?
this is an integrated pre amp /power amp so it's a stand alone head - just plug in 0ne 4 or 8 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs and your away!! -

WITHDRAWN!! -Trace Elliot AH250 GP12 SMX bass head - WITHDRAWN!!
Shonks replied to Shonks's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
ah well, all the positive remarks about this head has made me re-evaluate it, and yeah, I must be bonkers selling this - sorry for mucking you about!!! I still have a GP7 SM150 for sale here which is still a brilliant amp just not as kickass as this, ...but it's cheaper!! http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 oh yeah, and a great cab t flog with it! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/234621-trace-elliot-1153-cab/page__fromsearch__1 -

including valve preamp section and even the SMX dual band compressor makes for a very tight punchy professional sound. 280w rms / 580w peak , (under rated i reckon) Trace Elliot green backlighting - which looks cool on a darkened stage. This amp is from around 1995 and looks new. Its has one small problem with the preset button. This amp has two Trace preset sounds. You sometimes have to press it in and out a few times to activate it. It may just need some switch cleaner. Everything else is a 100%

[s]£100[/s] covered in the Trace Elliot green carpet I thought it was a 1518 model and it's 300 watts model number and power rating label on the back has faded, and I've been advised on this post it's probably the 1153 model. all working superbly, was hooked up to a 350 watt rig paired with a 2x10 and handled it with ease! collect from Westcliff on Sea or will deliver locally. oh...and its got feet for horizontal or vertical placement......which is nice! and interesting link re this cab: http://www.talkbass....t-ports-766224/ pretty light for a TE
