1.
that currently an average of 5.4 basses each, now if all 2000 member of BC have about 5.4 basses that almost 11,000 basses !!!!
Very optimistic indeed It seems likely that those members who haven't posted are those who either don't use basschat much (suggesting that a significant proportion have perhaps given up on bass and sold all their gear or at least not invested in 5.4 basses...) or they're embarrassed that they only have 1 - I'm sure there must be more people out there with 1! And I doubt there are many more with over 20... So I'd guesstimate that somewhere around 5,000 is more likely
 2. next person is #153 and we're actually on 837...
 3.
At There Best... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCzUMjCykn8 Garry
I felt the dire need to repost this for the benefit of jazz haters...
 4. Good job my room's on the ground floor and I have 2 hands! If I could only save one it'd be my 7-string, even though it's heaviest >_<
 5. AIDS! Thanks to a couple of mistakes we're actually only on 777 and the next person to post is #140
 6.
Im on 40 4 4 4 4 5 5 5 9
Wow, I always assumed you had more than one ERB! Straight from 5 to 9 must have been a bit of a leap! I have 4 5 5 5 5 5 6 7 8 And because of that, your 9 makes me feel inadequate!
 7.
Is it possible to sub divide into what we use..fretless,six string etc etc
I saw your username and the first thing I thought was "How about a thread to count how many strings we have?" Just on basses, my count is 50!
 8.
Rats! We should have had a person count and a matrix to tick for number of basses so we could do real stats like how many replied, how many have 1,2,3,4 ... 33, etc ...
That's an interesting idea too - any of the mods got any idea how we could do this..?
 9.
You've not counted the people have you? Be interesting to average the number etc Si
I hadn't, but now I have... 129 so far! Perhaps people could state which number person they are as well as their bass count and the cumulative total? So the next person shall be #130
 10.
I see that the total is actually higher as some people have done their sums and then posted but more have been added meanwhile. Someone needs to go through and check the whole thread when it's died down. Any volunteers? Peter
I've taken it upon myself to do this as we go along, in fact
+ 4 makes it 644

MB1. Down to TWO! ......648.....THEN
Um..? I believe we should be on 680 at the moment!
 11.
like linkin park? wtf?
Same tuning?

 14. Having filled my bedroom to capacity with basses, living space has apparently become an issue, so I'm reluctantly forced to part with my first ever 5-string! Sentimentality abounds, as this was the first decent bass I ever owned, but I've got 8 others so this never gets played - in fact I've only gigged it about 5 times, I think, the last time being 2 years ago today (coincidence)... anyway, it's a great bass for anyone who wants to move onto 5-string without making a massive investment - plus it looks delicious! Pics to that effect shall be added as soon as I have them (probably Friday), but at the moment it's in Cwmbran at my parents' home - if anyone's interested in picking it up from Bristol, that can probably be arranged too, as can postage if necessary... I'm only looking for £100 or possible trades (effects and things, offer me anything you've got, really - definitely not basses though!!! That would somewhat defeat the purpose of getting rid of this... um... unless anyone's got a cheap passive 4-string they want rid of...) I've had some interest in this already so don't be too surprised if it's gone before the week's up, but don't let that keep you from making offers! Oh BTW, Harmony Central review here and a pic of a very similar one (earlier model, I think...) here:
 15.
375 9 here = 384
So that would be 450..?
 16.
+1 (Oh the shame) 222

+7 = 229

+9 231
So that's another 7... 294
 17.
i've seen them live and the only pedal he seems to use is a boss bass overdrive, cranked up to full by the sound of it!
Undoubtedly - that's certainly how it sounds
 18. I strongly recommend writing your own stuff! Better still, join a band and learn their stuff... 'tis better to be able to pick stuff up and play along with a song you've never heard before than to have a massive repertoire of other people's songs you may well never use - with that in mind, I do learn new songs quite often, but that's more of an exercise in learning stuff than trying to expand my repertoire - the only point in remembering songs you'll never play on stage is so that you have something to play when you're not doing something more important... I think
 19.
i wonder how many basses we own collectively!!! must be quite a few Hey mods, that would be cool to know. You guys must have some black magic that we can use to work this out. S
Could do a poll, work out the average basses owned by each voter and multiply that by however many members there are?
 20. Pretty sure it's Noel? There are a lot of different versions of it, so perhaps you shouldn't be too concerned with total accuracy..? With that in mind, I can tentatively suggest this guitar pro tab http://www.911tabs.com/link/?2231552
 21. Mike Rutherford's doing well for 57
 22.
"Improving bass player [age] seeks others to play with. I'm open minded but interested in [musical genre] or anything else."
Except jazz +1 on the whole post, though - don't do as I did and spend all your money on basses! Spend it on lessons
 23.
Chuck Rainey - can't find out
67, I believe
 24. Interesting compared to your avatar?! Still, that is admittedly very... intriguing
