1. I might start a thread on large breasts then, if thats OK. Should bring up some useful links.
2. Yes, its OK, but only just. For £13 it does the job. Im gonna get a rack tuner soon.
3. Compared with all the above set ups, this looks crap, but it does what I need. Behringer Switcher - to switch between my two basses. Behringer Tuner DHA VT1 Purist Bass Valve Overdrive Pedal - it does what it says on the tin, beautifully. Just what I needed to warm up my sound.
4.
Hi, Looks really good. I assume this was from rondomusic.com? I'm very tempted to get a 70's style 5 string. Is the neck thicker front to back or wider? Cheers John
To my mind, the neck is slightly larget in all aspects, bit more Precision size...but not quite....if you see? Yes....Rondomusic.com
5. I have doubts re the body being a gen Fender. It looks "multipart", glued and varnished. There is an evident "part" of wood near the jack, you can see a join. also the rear chamfer looks to sharp to me, not rounded enough. Agree re the decal, deffo not original. He says he got the neck from the US due to the old one breaking. Hes in the UK, why get a US neck? As he has headed his ad as "Fender Jazz", I would avoid, even at a low price. Looks heavy too!!!
6. Warwickhunt will be able to help you here. I would say not to use the oil on the body, but what do I know about unpainted basses.
7. No, decided to keep the stock pups, sound really full and good output, louder than my Fender. The frets on my one were fine, no need for filing/dress at all.
8.
There is so much you can do with your right hand,
Excellent advice as ever!
9. Have you contacted GOTOH direct? They may be able to point you in the right direction for spares.
10. Ive imported an SX Jazz from the US and Id say its miles better than Squires, and cheaper. The SX range from rondomusic.net is far better than the Deacon range. See my thread in Build Diaries for more info ali-stare.
11. Jamiroquai for starters - Paul is an innovative bassist and their band is big.
12.
That's why they put them on a 73 'Jazz' instead....
Ooops....you know what I mean!!!!
13. Cant believe someone would put sied LEDS on a 73 Precision.
14. What browser are you using? Try a different browser eg Firefox or Opera and see if you have the same problem.
15. Can someone remind me what this thread is about.....Ive forgotten.
16.
At a gig, last week. Orange juice and purse, not mine...
Lovely G&L - SRF.
17. Er £85? Get ready for some PMs mate. Where are you located?
18. Could we all have a starting price Mr major?
19. Thanks, has a certain Austin Powers Mojo flavour to it..............oh behave!!!
20. Magnolia bought it from FarEast Guitars for £425???? Whos gonna pay £500 for one?
21. The guard is an off the shelf job from my local music store, just needed a little dremmeling round the neck pocket area to fit. The actual build quality, body/paint finish and neck are easily on par with MIM s, infact i prefer the necks on these, look more professional than the bleachy wood effect of the Fenders. I used it for the first time at practice last night and it was a pleasure to play. The lads couldnt believe it only cost me £170 all in. Go for it, import is a breeze with this company.
22.
I might have this back (im Rush_rule) This was a great bass. If you still have it at the end of the month i'll have it. I only sold the bass because of the hassle it caused when i bought it, i just wanted rid f it. If i remember correct its a 1988. Does it still have the badass on? Nick
If the pics are accurate, then no.
